High CPU usage, don't know whyFollow

#1 Jan 07 2007 at 7:42 PM Rating: Decent
Since I have installed the new patch and some new post patch mods, my cpu usage for wow is in the high nineties percentages. This brings any background or god forbid foreground task I have to a near halt. I don't know why this is happening. I disabled the mods, but still have the issue. Is it the new patch? Anyone else out there experiencing the same problems?

Is it possible to post tech stats on you setup?

Also have you tried looking in task manager to see processes that are running and specifically the ones that are using the most memory?

It might be that you have some spyware or a virus running on the computer as well. There are some links to free tools in my sig.

Is it happening when you run other games or applications, or just wow?

It appears to be only happening with WOW. The other programs are using minimal resources. I have run both spyware and virus checkers and did have some spyware issues but these have been neutralized. Overlord, u have asked for tech stats on setup. What is it exactly u r looking for and I will supply. Thanks for any help you can provide.

was jsut wondering things such as CPU speed, memory and Hard drive space left. All things like this. Because i ave a pretty normal laptop that runs it fast. I just wanted to see speed and such. Video card would be good, and make sure that you have all latest drivers for the card.

I am running a 3.7 Mhz AMD 64 chipset with a lan party ut sli motherboard. I have two graphics cards running in an SLI config. They are both EVGA 6800 GS video cards. I have 2 eighty gig hard drives and the c: drive is about 30% full and the drive with WOW on it is at about 50% capacity. I also have 2 gigs of ram. All drivers were checked at the beginning of January. I really think the issue is either the modified mods for the new patch or the new patch itself as this system was running fine before. However I do not know how to verify this beyond what I have done (disabliing all mods). Any help you can provide would be appreciated. Thanks.

Gotta say it soundsvery strange. I had the same problem a couple a years ago after a patch. Everything ran fine then after the patch everything was chuggy and slow. But i never could sort the problem it was just the patch as i had no mods installed and my configuration hadnt changed.
