World of Warcraft Acronym and Shortform List.

Oops, just realised nerf isn't on there. It basically means to make something weaker. Thus when someone says "Nerf Warlocks", they're suggesting Warlocks are overpowered compared to other classes & need to be watered down.

"Nerf" would seem to derive from Hasbro's "Nerf" range of toys, such as footballs of foam plastic that could be used indoors and toy guns and bows that fired foam plastic ammo. The product was so lightweight, you couldn't do any harm or damage with them - the term got applied to any game item, class or whatever, that was reduced in power/effectiveness by the game designers.

B - Buying.

Never by itself. it's usually the last letter in WTB (Want To Buy)

BoA - Bind on Acquire. Any item that is immediately bound to the player when looted or acquired. All quest rewards are BoA. Also called Bind on Pick up.

Bzzt! It's BoP - the acronym for Bind on Pickup, which is what's displayed when you actually see the item in the tooltip. You will never see "Bind on Acquire" in the game itself, so this term might be used by people who don't know how to read.

Buff - Helpful spells cast on self or party members to temporarily increase stats

FTFY

Quote:
Camp - To sit in one place waiting for a particular monster or type of monster to spawn. "Someone just killed X Creep, so I'm camping his spawn now."

Also a term for staying near the body of a player that was killed in PvP in order to kill him again.

Quote:
Charm/Charming - The act turning a mob into a pet to help fight on your side.

Bzzt again! Charm is a specific crowd control used by warlocks against humanoid targets. "Mind control" or "Enslave" are more appropriate.

Quote:
Clan - (see Guild)

What game did you come from again? I've never heard of a guild being called a "clan" in WoW.

Quote:
Class - A specific type of character, signifying a role or profession (ie. paladin, mage, priest...).

I'll buy "role", but "profession" has a specific use in WoW - it designates trade skills

I can't take much more... this explanation is filled with inaccuracies. It's almost as if someone came from a different MMORPG and tried to apply its terms to WoW, or by someone who is new and tried to create terms of their own, or even by someone who is so experienced that normal usage means nothing beyond himself and his own buddies (who understand his jargon, even if no one else does).
