Blocked out instance & place similar to stockades in the middle of the canals.

The one in the middle of the canal leads to The Vault. A stockade for criminals that deserve to die but can't be killed - phenomenally strong beings like demons, ultrapowerful wizards, elementals, liches, and other nasties. The only thing stopping them from breaking out onto the streets of Stormwind are powerful magics by the mages of Stormwind.

The other one, at the end of a canal between Old Town and the Trade District was set up to lead to a housing area back when Blizzard was testing out housing. There were once even models of buyable houses in WoW's data files. For logistics reasons, housing has been indefinitely postponed.

Any hope the vault will be "broken out of" for tbc you think? Could make for a great event/more high level content.

I don't think it will for the release... but they'll more likely then not add new instances over patches.

You also have to remember that they'll be other expansion later down the road.

The same way (or similar) they get into Gnomer.

Umm... except Gnomergan isn't inside a capital. This supposed Vault is inside Stormwind itself...

The Horde use a teleporter that take them directly within Gnomer. Not the instance itself mind you, but the cave around it.

Have some corridors and stairs before the actual instance portal. Put level 60+ mobs in there. Put a 'teleporter' that the Horde can take.

It's really not that complicated.

I dont think it would stop the Hord from going there-allies run the RFC all the time.

I was unaware of this. I've only ever run Gnomergan as Alliance. Useful information... thank you. :)

It's not that hard to get to RFC since it's close to the back entrance to Org which is barely guarded by anyone. Stormwind on the other hand, running across the bridge, then past the trade district, with the deadly to touch civilians and the whole bulk of alliance at Stormwind (since that's where the bank and AH re), then running through more of SW.....there's no way it'll ever happen. It could just be an ally only instance, like stockades, then have a horde only one somewhere else.

A few weeks ago I saw an orc NPC behind that weird canal force screen gate. No idea what it was. I could click on him. Tried to attack him but was not allowed (line of sight or something). I wonder if it was a GM ******** around... except, unlike other mmo's, GMs don't usually appear as chars in this game, do they? Who knows what it was. I should have written down his name.

Yeah... but at level 13-16 (when the instance might possibly be useful to you), meh, you could ding 20 in the time it takes to get there, and complete the instance. Plus there's no quests (for Alliance), and the drops are replaceable instantly for 20s on the AH.

Thinking about the Stockade, here's an idea: make it a 5 floor Instance, with all the tax dodgers and shoplifters on floor 1 (levels 10-15). Acessible from a central winding staircase, are Floor 2 (15-25), Floor 3 (25-35) and so on, with the hard-cases on Floor 5, right at the bottom. And not even a big re-vamp, either; same concept and layout as it is right now, just somewhere to knock some heads together, whatever level you are.

i cant find the link but theres a youtube vid of people going behind that gate, leads to a big empty area with a big hole in the world. Unsure ho wthey did it (typical vanity films) but i assume its similar to the Dalaran exploit.

I have a feeling horde could just nude corpse run, it'd be like 2-3 deaths maybe 4 tops. Since it'd probably be raid content, they could just whip everything in their path. I'd love to see the video.

to answer the question on how you get behind the gate in sw is, you have to go under sw itself. there are 3 ways that i no how to do it. you can climb the mountian thats to the side of the flight path, or jump onto invisable boxes in the trade district and then jump into the wall. once you are underneath you walk towards a hill thats there and when you get high enough on the hill you will appear in that "hall" and you'll be behind the gate thing. its very fun to do because after you can jump out through the sides and jump into the hole in the earth.
