Best Class for Later LvlsFollow

#1 Jan 04 2007 at 11:19 AM Rating: Default
I was wonder what Class would serve me best in later lvls.

I just leveled a Mage to 60....and I have a couple of friends that just started playing on a different server and want me to join up with them. I started a Night elf hunter, lvl 9 now, cuz I always thought having a pet would be cool....but as I read trough some of the other threads I notice that Hunters and Pets don't seem to be as useful in later levels, instances and PvP/BG....I could be wrong.

Now before I invest too much time in this character I was wondering what character class might serve me better once I think about it's usefulness in groups, soloing, and BG survivability.

I do know that I'm tired of the restrictions of the Cloth armor wearing Mage....but I still lover her dearly. ;-)

Just looking for Opinions on personal favs, and best experiences with different classes.

I love my pally, personally, because he can do so much. I'm holy currently, and although I can't out heal a priest, or maybe a resto Druid, I can keep it up for a long time do to Flash of Light. You can also respec and go prot, and now that we have a viable 'taunt' we can tank pretty well. And although we're not really wanted for DPS, we can still do it fairly well, and even off heal at the same time. A lot of pallies nowadays are gonig with a Prot/Holy build come endgame so they can do a little of both, and yet still be useful. I do not recommend spreading points into all three trees, as it seriously weakens our abilities.

Not to be glib, but the best class for any level is the one you like to play the most. Personally, I like to play my hunter more often than any other toons, but I have alts in all the classes, and occasionally spend time with all of them. They are all unique in their abilities, and each one of my characters has a different personality.

Hunters are very useful but there seem to be a lot on most servers. There are only so many spots in a raid so some need to get left out. I have heard they can have a hard time finding a guild as well. But hunters are often near the top in dps in a raid.

But like the earlier poster said play what you want. You are going to be leveling that char, then maybe raiding or pvping, so it best something you like to do. I have a mage and I have never gotten tired of my mage. I look forward to bc so I can level some more. Play what you find fun.

Hunters are useful if you find a group that lets you use your abilities. You can CC a mob with ice, another with your pet. Do a good amount of damage, FD to drop agro.

A BM hunter pet could tank most of the 5 man instances, might require more healing and different tactics than normal but would be possible.

Pick a class you like they all have their benefits.
