What is the easiest class to play as in teams? as in less button smashing, i'm 47 and not the most talented player, i've been playing solo and finaly getting bored with play with myself :)so i want to start teaming but don't want too much responsability like warriors have for fear of letting the team down, but saying that i like playing warriors and rogues, up close and personal.

Probably Paladin/Shaman.

In groups you pretty much heal and cleanse, as a Shaman you make sure to drop some totems and as a Paladin you make sure to bless your team (also known as 'party') every few minutes.

Paladins and Shamans also solo very well because of their hybrid roles, allowing them to heal and deal damage at the same time. Paladin and Shaman fights are usually:

1.) Apply weapon buffs (Shaman) or seals (Paladin).
2.) Target mob.
3.) Enable Auto-Attack and supply with a Shock (Shaman) or Judgement (Paladin) once in a while.
4.) Repeat until mob dies.

Minimal button mashing (compared to a Rogue/Warrior, for instance).

I'm 41.

Tanks (usually a warrior) and healers (hopefully a priest) have the most responsibility. If there is a mage, they have sheeping/crowd control responsibility. If the Big Three spots are filled, the other two party members will probably have less responsibility.

My friends have told me that hunters, warlocks, and rogues are all relatively easy to play.

I would have to disagree with Mazra concerning shamans. I have a 60 shaman, and he is by far my most complicated toon.

Good for soloing? Absolutely.

Simple to play? Nope.

Rogues are great for low-responsibility. Aside from needing to stealth in at the start to sap an enemy sometimes, rogueing it up in a group is very similar to soloing. My rogue group experience normally runs: Sap, light attacking of warriors target until warrior Sunders, the Backstab frenzy. Repeat from light attacking step until enemy group are dead.

Personally, I have found that my Rogue was the least, for lack of a better word, vital in a group setting. By "least vital", I mean that if I was to ***** up or get distraced by my wife's nagging it would have the lowest negative impact on my groups.

A rogue is still a challenging class to play, esp. when it comes to controlling damage so you do not become a punching bag for the mob. However, if I am understanding your question correctly, a rogue would allow you to get up close to the mob and would be the most forgiving if you made an error while fighting.

This game isn't really about 'talent' or 'skill'. It's basically just learning what button to press at the right time. What it sounds like is you're looking more for a class that has less responsibility or at least is less important in a group. I'd recommend going with any DPS class - mage, rogue, hunter. With the DPS guys, generally if you mess up, you die, not your entire group. You could also try Hybrids - Pally, Druid, Shaman, just be forewarned you may be forced to spec more towards healing.

Do you mean healing in groups, PvP or solo PvE?

I have a level 44 Shaman so my knowledge is somewhat limited to the public test realms. Applying Windfury and attacking mob usually resulted in my survival, especially with a Frost Shock mixed into the equation.

Get Stormstrike and it's even easier.

Of course healing I have little experience with, but out of all the classes, I mentioned Shaman and Paladin because they basically kill stuff without you hitting any buttons at all.

From watching my boyfriend play his Shaman, it does seem like there are a lot of choices to make (and 'buttons' to push) with all of the spells and totems he has available. I haven't tried playing one myself yet.

From my own experience, I would say that my Hunter and Rogue require the least amount of coordination. My Hunter marks her prey, sends her pet and then auto-shoots with an occaisional special shot thrown in and I seldom have to do much else unless the situation gets sticky with unplanned adds that require me to hit 'heal pet' a few times. Rogue can be a little complicated if you try to work in stun-locks and fancy moves but in a group I usually just find myself spamming backstabs or sinister strikes with an eviscerate or rupture when my combo points stack up.

I've tried all classes and in order of enjoyed the most starting with the most fun

rogue
hunter
warrior
mage
warlock
druid
shaman
priest
paladin

i've lost count the times i've quit wow but i allways come back i don't know what it is that keeps me playing,
i just want to get to 60 with some nice gear and do the odd teaming and have fun but i just don't know how,
if they had instances where you could solo to get good gear then i'd be happy, but they don't they force you to group for hours on end, i know i'm the minority here cause most ppl prefer to group.

As for shamans...

Grouping:

Unless you have the right spec AND the right gear, you will probably not be that effective as a healer, but that won't keep people from being mad at you because of it. I am very hesitant to join a group as the only healer. It will probably end badly.

You can tank okay at the lower levels, but have no real way to grab/hold aggro. Also, your armor will take a terrible beating. Even when I had an enchance spec 60, I never even pretended I could be the MT.

Ideally you find a group that already has a main tank and a healer. Then you can off-tank, secondary heal, throw out some offensive spells, etc. "Filling in the gaps" like that during an instance can be very difficult, and may not be appreciated much, but I enjoy it.

PVP:

I am willing to admit that I'm not that good at PVP. In world pvp I rely on frost shock quite a bit to make the opponent stop jumping around so I can beat on them. Earthshock is awesome for messing up spellcasters. On a BG I've found that my ability to heal, frostshock lively opponents, and debubble mages and priests makes me a handy team member.

PVE:

Usually not that hard. Normal mobs are pretty easy to take care of: totem, DOT/shock, beating, repeat as needed.

It's a complicated class partially because it's a hybrid with three different roles, and partly because there are so many different spells and totems. My shaman has twice as many tool bars as my druid, for instance.

Sorry for the highjack.

Agreed, there are just too many different totems to use.
If you plan on playing a character well, and not "mash buttons" I dont think shaman would be the way to go.

You might be better off picking a hunter.
Generally I press 5 buttons total. :)

I'm not the best gamer and I find hunter pretty laid back with pretty repetitive clicks. My young kidlets also have hunter characters and they caught on fairly quickly. Were I you, I would try each job out in the lower levels and see if they're compatible with what you're looking for.

As for totems, get TotemBar or an equivalent? (If they weren't destroyed in the patch)

I relax a lot on my Shaman. Windfury + auto attack = results.

On my Mage I have to press buttons to stay alive. Same goes for Rogue and Warrior (in most cases).

I agree with most of the above posters. If you want a fun in your face job that has low group responsibility than rogue is a good choice.

There are builds you can do that dont require a ton of button mashing. Letting loose with Slice and dice + blade fury for example give good controlled DPS without worries of spike hate and agro. You wont do as much damage that way but its pretty low key.

I actually chose rogue in WoW for that reason exactly. In FFXI my main was a Ninja which in that game is a tank class that uses shadow magic to mitigtate damage. This requires high intensity hate control and shadow casting. I tanked all the endgame mobs for my Linkshell/guild. Some fights required hours of concentrated tanking and kiting at a time. Whiel it was a rush after a while it burned me out havign the fate of the entire group restng on whether or not I got off my shadows before the mob ate me.

So I understand where you are coming from.

Now a Rogue in PvP is an entirely different story. That will require much mashing and lightning fast reflexes.

But for group PvE and instances a rogue should suit you just fine.

For the most part hunter is a very easy class, solo and groups, a hunter can do alot, and can help out a group with alot of utility, but for the most part its "pet attack, auto shot, then mix in arcane and stings"

Depending on your spec you might have osme other things you can do, but for general play 4 maybe 5 buttons at most, and with macros its even less (pet attack + start attack + hunters mark) and could put arcane and stings on a sequence macro doing sting then like 3 arcanes, then starts over, then you just have 2 buttons to press attack, and skills

But a hunter can be complicated to fully reach your potential, pulling, managing adds, pet off tanking, traps, and many other skills, but those arnt overly important in a decant group, but if you know how to handle just about anythign that comes at you, people will notice, like when you place a frost on the priest and it traps the first mob that comes near him/her and when you use your AoE skills when you come across groups of lower level mobs (multi, volley and if ape pet thunder stomp)

A hunter has alot of versatility, but overall play can be very simple, and the group doesnt fully expect alot from a hunter other than for them to shoot the target and not die. Other than that, the rest is up to you, to be just a face in the crowd, or the one who turns a possible wipe into a victory :)

I am 43. I have Guildies that are 43, 43, 44, 50 and the punk kid is 37.

Hunters are the most slack class I know (from a button pushing stand point). My 27 year old Guildy (in diapers) that has played a Rogue since retail was going on endlessly about how much less work Hunters are.

Our oldest member has been a time Priest since retail.. no alts above 20.. and his Druid should hit 60 in the next week (55 now). He is in love with Druidism (specialized Feral Cat) although admits this much more key intensive than the Priest.

What classes resonate with you.. that's completely personal. But, PvE, least buttons to press (other than a slacker Priest, which violates your responsibility condition) I think has to go to the Hunter.
