you will still be able to do them, there may be 1 or 2 that are dwarf specific (if any) but other than that you should be able to.

Just don't do it as a druid, I don't think there are any druid trainers nearby.

Not 100% sure, but I think there is Druid Trainer in Stormwind. Park area. That's not terribly far.

I know there is a moonwell, didn't think there was a trainer there though.

Mainly because no SW or IF based race can roll druid. same thing on horde no UC or OR races can and the druid trainer is in TB

Yes, there are Druid Trainers in Stormwind. I noticed them when I went over there to find a quest giver.

As for doing the starter quests - you can do them at any level but once they are 'gray' to you (meaning you are too high a level to get exp from the fighting), the quest givers won't have the yellow "!" over their heads to signal they have a quest for you. You would have to try 'talking' to pretty much every NPC you can find in the newbie area to see if they will offer you a quest.

My 'normal' routine is to do all of the 1-10 quests in my own starting area and then go to another starting area around level 13 and do those starting quests and then hit the third starting area for those quests. I also try to fit in some of the quests from the 10-20 areas while they are still green and yellow to me which isn't too hard since I am not gaining a lot of experience by doing the other starting quests at a higher level. I do this mainly for the reputation gains since it is nice to hit honored with all of the races in my faction for the discounts.

I took my NE hunter to the dwarf area, got him to level 10 and accepted the hunter quest line that would get me my first pet... well, the very first quest wanted me to talk to an NPC that was ALL the way back in the NE starting area....

So from my own experience, if you're rolling an NE hunter, stick in the starting area.

You might as well do all the starting quests from where you start. I see no more point in dragging a Gnome to Darnassus as I see taking an Elf to Stormwind. Remember, there is an AH in Teldrassil, now.

Webjunky's problem applies to any class. Any NE that heads east will find themselves having to return to Darnassus at around lvl 10 for their first class quest. I'd probably stay in Teldrassil until that quest is done, then venture out into the world after that.

only asking because i want a NE char for the high agi, but i also want to raise skinning which is really easy in the dwarf area. suggestions as to what to do are appreciated.

The starting stats are pretty much meaningless - your high agility will be pretty much irrelevant by about lvl 10. If you're certain that you want a NE skinner though, I'd stay in Teldrassil, then move to Auberdine at around lvl 10. There are bears, cats and striders all over Auberdine which can be skinned.

I wouldn't really worry too much about how fast skinning goes up though - my skinning was always far higher than I needed for mobs I could kill - I hit 300 skinning (suitable for skinning lvl 60s) whilst still killing lvl 40 mobs.

High agility would suggest you want a rogue, hunter or maybe warrior for your character. Whatever class you'd want, I'd reccommend Dwarf. Why?

1 - We get good classes (Rogue, Warrior, Hunter, Paladin, Priest).
2 - The starting area is the best of all six, in my opinion.
3 - Stoneform is a useful Dwarf-only ability, although it's less useful if you roll a pally.
4 - Dwarfs sound Scottish, which is fun. It really suits them, too.
5 - The world needs more Dwarfs. Bonus points for rolling a Dwarf Rogue :)

The only profession that a NE could want that could warrant an early trip to Ironforge/Stormwind is mining (and the mining dependent crafts) since there is no ore in Teldrassil.

It is easy to skill up on skinning and herbalism (and the associated crafts) in all of the starting areas.

Picking a race based solely on the starting stats isn't necessary in this game. Pick the race that you will feel comfortable looking at for 60+ levels.

Aye, I love my dwarf hunter. Too many NE hunters out there anyway and they look too 'lanky' IMHO.

I would like to have shadowmeld sometimes, but it's pretty situational.
