Astranarr is never safeFollow

#1 Jan 03 2007 at 3:51 PM Rating: Decent
Once, when I was a super noob, I made the mistake of going on a raid to Orgrimarr and I noticed as I passed Astranarr I noticed that all the guards were dead and bodies were everywhere and then I got slaughtered by the horde. What lvl should u be in order to safely get pass Astranarr?

You were going to... raid ogrimmar... the horde capital city?...

1. If you cant walk round astranarr, you WONT do ogrimmar (You need ALOT of people)
2. Your going to difficult way :P - go to rachet and walk up (Or to tristful and catch the zeplin, but its WAY harder than it looks.. trust me)

Anyyyyway... Astranarr isnt attacked often... So its usualy safe

The same people killing you in Astranaar would be killing you in Orgrimar, only with guards helping. They saved you a trip by meeting you halfway.

Astranaar is usually quiet, but if it is too quiet because everyone is dead, its time to leave.

depends of the realm on ravenholdt (my shaman's realm) they have raids there often

Dark Cronicle raids it.. last time they slaughtered the place.. Raene and fp master and all.. made thier way to auberdine, slaughtered that and attempted darnassus

Astranaar is safe on any PVE realm.

Unless you go and flag yourself for PVP in which case you shouldn't be surprised when you get killed.

If you play on a PVP realm then you aren't safe anywhere outside of your own factions' 1-20 zones. No level is 'safe' when it is flagged for PVP.

Astranaar is always under attack by lvl 40+ Horde on the server of Darkspear. Honestly i wonder why they feel the need to gank a level 20 guards and PCs when you dont get honor or EXP. I still fight them anyway, because eventually enough lowbies get together and kill the poor sod. Of course, when 5 lowbies kill a level 60 and start emoting on the body, a funny thing happens next. The Horde gets his other 30 level 60 buddies and kills everyone in sight. bruised ego much?

I feel the same way when I go to drop off a quest in Crossroads or Splintertree and find that the NPC I came to see was dead. It's annoying but it's part of the game.

It happens on both sides and since there are more Alliance players than Horde players, it seems like the Horde towns get hit more though that could be just on the servers I am on.

I have wondered if this sort of town raiding happens more on PVE servers where it is one of the few ways you can 'grief' the opposing faction on that kind of server.

That's just what you get for Crossroads.

Actually if he's a NE he is going the fastest way possible, Darkshore into Ashenvale, East to the river, look south, hey its Orgrimmar...

To get to ratchet he either has to go through astranaar then south through the barrens OR catch the boat to menethil, run to IF, tram to SW, run to BB through STV, boat to Ratchet...

To get to Tirisfal it's menethil then up through Arathi, Hillsbrad, Alterac or Silverpine...

Both your options require extensive travel through high level and horde areas, not to mention running south through the barrens to Ratchet just to run back north through the barrens to Org is just silly.

it seems everytime I'm on Argent Dawn I always see a bunch of dead orc bodies with no armor lying on the floor in Stormwind Keep, next to the King.

Must be bored Horde players making characters just to horse around. Witnessed a 3 Man Darnassus 'Raid' (attempt)one day. They made it from the Boat in Rut'Therian to about 100 feet from the Portal to Darnassus.

My guild organized our first raid outing (to a small town) today. Only 8 of us and we kept killing this mage, paladin and a few lower levels who thought to take out our lower level players (we didn't let that happen). The lower levels were kinda like "So what are we really doing this for?" "Honor, for PvP gear :P"

We shall now have weekly raids on alliance towns. Next weeks location is already set, thanks to a lower level guildee.

But, those who sat and watched us kill the flagged alliance were perfectly fine -- and smart (if you ask me).

If you think Astranarr is never safe try playing around in The Crossroads, there are nearly always Alliance ganking there.

Personally I mostly ride through, DoT everything in sight and just drain the life out of everything, even going os far as to kill the FP guy/girl.

T'is fun, which is what this game should be about, rather than spending 35 hours a week raiding, I already have one job, I certainly don't need another.

Ha Astranaar is like the first town that the horde comes across when they leave there territory its given that they will be attacked...
