I love it when people who haven't got a clue, express undying hatred towards a class.

A Holy Priest, while not exactly the most damaging of classes is NOT the least damaging of classes. My priest (spec'd for healing, not damage) easily out damages my guild leader's Retribution Pally. Straight up. And that's WHILE keeping everyone healed. :)

To the OP: Least damaging? I'd say a Prot Pally. Take a low DPS class and gimp it even farther. Of course, they aren't taking much damage, but they're not dishing it out very quickly either. Oh, before someone stabs me w/ my own blade ... my level 43 Paladin IS a Prot Pally ... :D Just finished tanking RFD with a group of level 34 - 36 toons. Nothing to worry about ... I just ended up #5 on the damage meter (even WITH Consecrate and everything else). Behind the Prot spec'd warrior using a 1H and shield.

on the other hand, feral and moonkin druids don't do very impressive damage but still usually end up at the top half of the damage charts..

Anyone else see the contradiction?

Balance and feral druids do massive DPS since the patch. I was second on the damage meters (balance druid) and our feral was sixth in MC last night. I don't usually take any notice of the meters, but this was my first time as a raiding Boomkin and I wanted to get an idea of how it would perform. We've been buffed so much I'd feel sick if I wasn't so excited.

Resto druids aren't quite as bad as other classes for leveling, because they can at least use feral gear and go bear/cat. I'd imagine prot paladins (and prot warriors?) are the slowest, but I don't have enough (any) experience of them to be able to confirm.

Druid, profile below, I tank well enough that our normal 5 man tank, Protection Warrior in blues and purples, is jealous.

I solo in Bear form. I was in Cat, but healing after ever mob is slower.. and a downward mana sprial. In Cat form the mob would die and I would be at 40-60% health. In Bear form the mob would die (in much the same time) and I would be at 90-95% health.

I know I am "supposed to" solo in Cat form.. but I don't.

I love my Druid so much.. I kind of want a Balance Druid and a Restortion Druid (and maybe even a Cat specialized Build.. much is the same, tiny things aren't). And I see how all Druid Guilds get going.

To the OP.. generally in our instance runs our Discipline/Holy Priest comes in at or below 1% of total damage done to mobs. For whatever that means to you.

I normally grind on mobs 1 - 2 levels lower than my current level this makes it so I can kill 5 - 7 or so before shifting out of cat to heal, normally the shifting out and healing and getting back into cat takes less time than prowl cooldown. Also means I always have full mana when I shift out to heal. Anything higher level or more warrior type mobs and I will use bear it just takes longer to kill stuff can kill about 3 lower mobs in the time of bear dpsin a higher mob.

Love being able to take on multiple creatures, there was a time I was handling 3 different goblins in STV as they kept respawning on me. The druid class is so versatile. I have lots of fun with it.

All the shadow priests I have ever grouped with have done great damage, and most knew when to switch and heal too.

When I specced my druid restore it was the most horrid DPS ever.
