I use one and love it, don't know if I could play without it now.

Wow that does look very cool. I've noticed the more I play the more I feel like I have carpal tunnel syndrome. Seems to contour to the hand pretty well, decently priced as well.

I would love to hear what you think of it if you get it. I have seen a ton of the keyboard-esque addon type things for WoW at EBgames and the like.. but they all seem useless to me since I use a laptop to play anyways. I could plug it into usb, but eeeehhh. I wonder if they have any at the stores near my house or work. I have a giftcard to BB from christmas lol. Might take advantage of it.

Shmii approves of this gamepad. Easy to use, difficult to master.
It is highly recommended.

That one doesn't look too bad either. Hurts my eyes looking at it though hahahahah. Either way should be exciting getting one... you've convinced me, its best buy after work before MC tonight.

1 minute to unwrap and plug in, 30 minutes programming all the buttons the way I want, then raid :D lol

EDIT: After reading the description again at bestbuy.com "From our expanded online assortment; not available in Best Buy retail stores" ;-;

Sooo... please forgive me here, the idea of using a pad for a PC game is totally alien to me. On that note, I have a very nub question:

The pad linked by the OP would be used with solely the left hand, yes? And the right hand would still be mouse control? Or is the pad something to be used by both hands?

This looks really interesting, and I've been meaning to "improve my game" in PvP with some nicely laid-out hotkeys and such, and this looks it's go even one step further...
#10 Jan 03 2007 at 11:51 AM Rating: Good
Yes, used with left hand only.

The Fang that Axhed mentioned got rave reviews in several gaming magazines I read.

It's also usable by southpaws as well as "righties"...

Maybe bestbuy.com is lieing to us to promote online business :O I will stop by the store's also since they are on my way home from work. Raid on bb ftw.

I think the zboard fang is left or right.

I got a Zboard keyboard with BC keyset. So far it's pretty good. Not a bad way to spend x-mas money.

I use a Logitech G15 and I'm still waiting to be able to properly bind the G keys to macros and hotkeys without it interfering with other bindings in the game, but that's unlikely to ever happen.

On my Warlock, I've got them half assed set up to give me full control of my pets, changing aggressive/defensive/passive and simple macros to target me then use Devour Magic, or to spell lock my target. I'm sure there's more I could do with it but I haven't been creative enough to get the full use out of this rather pricey keyboard, yet.

I'm still trying to come up with ideas for my paladin. Anyone have good ideas for a paladin or warlock setup for the G15?

OK, another noob question for gaming pad users:

Where do you bind your jump button? =P

I know that sounds awful, but I've been conditioned through years and years of PC gaming to use a spacebar as the jump button. To not have a jump button relatively close to my left thumb is... is... it's almost unthinkable.

Did any of you have a similar problem?

you can bind it to one of the keys near your left thumb if you wish...

all of the keys are programable.

Jump on the key under the directional path on n52. ^^ It's intuitive enough after a while to replace good old spacebar.

Oh man, I didn't even realize that thing was a key from the picture I was looking at. Looks like this will be perfect for me, then!

I've got an adapter that lets me hook up a Playstation 2 controller to my PC. I used it for FFXI and it was great. Anyone know if that's compatible with WoW? A friend of mine is borrowing it and I didn't want to ask for it back unless I knew it'd work.

Here is quick sketch of button layout on Shmii's Druid:

12345
67890
abcd r

1-0 and a-d are normal buttons on pad, "r" is red button.
2 turn left
3 forward
4 turn right
7 strafe left
8 back
9 strafe right
That + mouse is great for all movement.

Directional pad forward is cat form.
Directional pad back is bear form.
Directional pad right is travel form. (When pressed twice you shift back, one also overrides the other if you want it to.)
Directional pad left when held puts speedpad in "red mode", and all 'normal' keys are now hotkeys to action buttons. Red button is always "oh noes!" button. Barkskin on Druid, Vanish on Rogue, Death Coil on Warlock, Scatter Shot on Hunter. Button near left thumb is jump.

I used to use a Logitech Cordless RumblePad II in my FFXI days and to answer your question truthfully, you will not be able to use a "controller" with WoW. The interface is far too complicated for a controller as it was designed for play on a PC.

Hell I might buy a Nostromo to use in addition to my keyboard, but I'm out of desk space as it is. Those things do look rather nifty.

I played EQ and some fps games with a nostromo n50 and loved it. n52 has a few more buttons and I've been meaning to pick one up.

I was looking at the fang online as well but then I saw one on the shelf at best buy. The fang seems so big that it might defeat the purpose.

There is another one out on the web that looked about as good as the nostromo. It had a few more buttons but was less ergonomic, can't remember the manufacturer's name right now though.
