Actually this is one of the things i love about WoW, the colour on the graphics are actually intresting and not bland.

Yes.. the very "cartoony" look and feel I was predisposed to hate has become one of the things I enjoy most. You are in a interactive cartoon. Just wander around the Plaguelands.. or the Hinterlands.. or Un'Goro.. or Winterspring.. or, well, anywhere.. and tell me WoW is not immersive.

Add the Deeprun Tram.. and flying.. and boats.. and the Darkmoon Faire.. and New Years Eve. I love this virtual world.. and it's so young.

Combine that with lore that's tongue-in-cheek and basically fun.. it's a blast.

To the OP.. what does it matter what we think? It's what you think.. give it a try. =)

Not to mention Blizzard's sense of humor in this game. It's fantastic!

Anyone ever watch the elite Giants that are off the coast of Feralas? If you watch them long enough... well, go check it out for yourself. I laughed my *** off the first time I saw them....

To help prevent gols farmers/hackers/botters from using the trial CDs available in stores, the trial is quite limited, as others have stated. Even your interactions with other players, and using the AH are all limited.

If you enjoy playing SWG (and even more if you enjoyed SWG the way it used to be), then there is a very good chance you will enjoy WoW.

The main box set is only $19.99, and you get the first month free, so even if you don't like it, you will not be out much at all. I would suggest this route to anyone over getting the trial CD, as it is so limited that it may even give you a bad impression of the game (i.e. you may think it is hard to make money, although if you could use the AH, it would be 100x easier).

Thats just my two cents :)

It will be measured in years surely.

You can still play Warcraft, Starcraft and Diablo 2 online.

EQ is in year 8 now.

This game (IMO) is easier to play casually and like 10x to 20x the people play it (maybe 30x) and since it has a subcription model.. so.. there will be some money left over to keep the servers running.

Lets say it all collapses in the next year and two thirds of the people quit. This leaves only 2 million people. A few server merges later, I think we still have a product (bringing in roughly 30 million/month in gross subscription revenue).

Gee.. if Blizzard walks away.. maybe someone will buy it.

It took me around 3½ months to hit 60 in WoW, but I took my time and checked out all the sights, explored every area fully, tried to do every quest I could get my hands on. If you're a new player and you rush to 60, it might take you around three months. I first got WoW in mid-august and a few days into december, I hit 60. I was focusing on one character, though, and I'm not ashamed to admit I was hooked and played 4-6 hours a day. Your mileage may vary.

If you add in Burning Crusade, which raises the level cap to 70, you can expect to take at least 4-5 months to take a new character all the way to the level cap. And if Blizzard is really being honest about their new content for those at 70, the instanced dungeon experience will be much easier to get into than it is now. Shorter dungeons with "save points" breaking up the sections, and 25 people needed instead of 40.
