Be .. More .. Specific

If it's a major motion picture company wouldn't the contact address be something@major_motion_picture_company_name.com

Not necessreally. I've seen dozens of movies use their own .com name and even some use myspace.

THE PITCH

Hey, gamers! Are you a diehard game enthusiast! Then let us interview you for our documentary on this amazing modern subculture! We plan on showing the world just how great you guys are.

THE MOVIE

Narrator: Over the course of three months, we interviewed fifty gamers. What we found was shocking. One man enjoyed playing a game titled "Worldly Warclash" for hours every day. And he's not alone. Seven million other players are also addicted to what certain experts we chose to interview specifically for their curmudgeonly outlook on digital entertainment call...ELECTRONIC DRUGS.

He means the email address not the website.

Smells like phishing to me too.

It will probably do to gaming what "Trekkies" did to SF Fandom. That mans that it will make fun of gaming, show the weirdos as "typical" gamers, and be geared toward displaying our "bizarness" or "addiction" to the general public.

I already saw a documentary about gamers. They took a player from each game and followed them around. If I remember, one played DDR, one played some golf game, etc. I think they should now make a movie about people that watch too much TV, believe me... that would be interesting...

But this is more likely a scam then legit.

Already saw one documentary with the teary eyed mom, kid dropped out of school and wont leave his room. Parents, can you say... cancel the cable. Not that I'm addicted, I take time to read the forums, then play.

Hey everyone - just wanted to let you know that this is, in fact, legit. We're in the beginning phases of a documentary film and are interested in meeting some gamers. I was assigned to find WoW gamers, and the others on the team are focusing on different games. We're not looking to scam or exploit anyone - just show how the online gaming community is formed through the four games I mentioned in the post. As you may understand, in the early phases of any movie (theatrical or documentary) there are confidentiality issues, which is why we can't just tell you everything. If you're interested, be sure to check out the link and download the application - if not, thanks anyway.

I enjoy the banter though,

Ben
