Let me see someone who can show me a duel where any race beat a shaman the same lvl the only who had a 30% chance is a warlok ...

yes being a shaman can be good but as a duel weilding enhancement shaman finding gear to go with ur spec is THE HARDEST thing in wow!!!!
The hwl set doesnt have enuf ap or crit/agi it focuses on spell crit and dmg and still has spirit on it ( a wasted pvp stat and shaman have the lowest regen per spirit eqaution in wow ((yes go check ur war or rogue u get more mana regen per tick than a shaman (((yes even though u have no mana it still tells u how much))))) to get the gear for a shaman to own requires running every end game raid and trying to outbid ( if u are allowed by ur guild ) some of the rarest drop rate non class specific set items
to even try to be an enhancement shaman without a full set of gear makes u gimped and relatively easy to beat against any class except noobs.
The shaman Teir gear is worthless except for resto shamans ( though being a resto shaman is generally underated in pvp where u will not get many killing blows but aid ur grp imensly and be extrememly hard to kill ) so having ruled out the shaman epic teir gear ( which has no ap agi crit and very little str ie. worthless for anyone trying to hit **** ) the best peices are a random selection of gear lacking the resistance that other class sets provide and the set bonuses which are extrememly valuable to other classes.
Having said this with the right gear ( which only needs +ap/crit agi str stam ) even with a base of approx 2-2.5k mana which only allows approx 5 shock spells the shamanistic rage with enuf AP makes this redundant as u will never run out of mana if played properly. As for race yes troll is good but the very best shaman race is tauren since many of u will try to argue this i will explain. As a shaman healing in combat isn't easy to do since many classes have ways to either interupt or reuce the effectiveness of the heal and even if they dont stop ur heal completely often u find they have done as much dmg as uve just manged to heal hence many shamans especially enhancement shamans ( u cant get NS and duel wield ) find healing during a fight worthless.
This is where being a tauren becomes imortant as warstomp the tauren racial aoe stun stuns for 1.5 secs not enuf time to heal in but enuf time to cast a dark iron bomb which then aoe stuns the grp u have just stomped for 4 seconds enuf time to cast a greater healing wave on urself and enuf time taht even if u have suffered a warriors mortal strike that by the time the heal is cast it will have worn off thus letting u heal uninteruptted in a grp of enemies and a far greater bonus for a shaman ( especially an enhancement shaman ) then even beserking.
As for shaman being the best class well yes they have moves that make them good against all the other classes but if played properly all other classes should have the advantage against the shaman ( depending on spec ) with the proper gear though a duel wielding shaman is without doubt the highest burst dps class in the game and as such again if played properly should beat any other class 1 vs 1 but even this depends on the situation a enhancement shaman can easily bve kited and killed if u know what u are doing.
Really imo warlocks are the best class as they have the least weakness against any other class and very few ways ur can exploit their weakness to beat them.
I have a 60 of each class and the best way to win a fight is to know what the other person is trying to do to win then stopping them doing exactly that what they try depends maiinly upon class and spec and often the ways of beating them varies mainly upon one of three generic specs ( ie which 41 talents point they wnet for (( though there are less common builds which pass up these moves for combiations fo the 21 talent point moves )

To sum up without gear enahancement gets owned getting gear is almost impossible or at least requires luck and more work then for anything else elemental is a good all round but not great ( think gimped mage / crappy moonkin ) and again even the HWL or Teir gear isnt great for this build.
Resto make u hard to kill but do little dmg ( less then resto/holy priests, druids or pallies and with less survivabilty then any of those classes against ppl who are better then average players)
Since the HWL gear is the easiest to get it is possible to build ur shaman to fit the items and i suggest 20/31/0 20 ele 31 enhancement (18/33/0)to take advantage of elemental devastation since this takes advantage of the both the melee and spell crit mixture that the HWL gear has and maximises burst dmg.
This build though relies on luck as with no spell crits and windfury crits u will be easily beaten but with the HWL gear there is nothing else u can really do with it as u will be either a poorly geared enahancement shaman or a poorly gear elemental shaman.

PS: sorry to have made this such a chunk of txt but i have tried to put forward the fact and counter any arguments and answer any questions before they have been asked

PPS: the best enahancement shaman chest peice outside of naxxaramis atm is a drop in BRD and doesnt even require 60 rofl ( but again this doesnt mean it is easy to get i farmed the boss for it over 200 times before it dropped for me )

oh and as for the post above yes shaman own every other class in the game ....UNTIL they hit 60 at this time anyone else has the advantage and shouldnt lose unless the come up against a well geared shaman ( who will have then obviuosly played a hell of a lot longer then u )

Sure, they're okay. Although, my firend has a level 60 shaman and he said that they kinda suck in end game. >.>

I guess it depends on the kind of guild you get into really.

shamans are the best class out of all of them in my opinion.. my shaman just has to many good spells to fit in his main bar

ugh shamans. Not looking forward to them being on allies. Shamans are a rough fight for my lock.

My 60 frost mage doesn't have much trouble dueling shamans.

It's always dangerous ground with that "best" word.

A shaman's strength is in versatility. This is especially prevalent in PvP: shamans can react to a majority of opponents' spells or playstyles in some way (the glaring exception is stunlock rogues). The problem then becomes skill based. Shamans have the tools, but the "best" part is still in the hands of the player.

Versatility is also a double-edged sword though. At level 60, the current end-game revolves around specialization: while that mage concentrated on +damage and can now one-shot players, shamans still needed +damage, +AP, +STA, and pretty much every other stat to maintain the way they did pre-60. This lead to a shaman sub-specialization culture: your talents (41-point talent cap did not help this) dictated how you play and gear your toon. That enhancement shaman gave up a lot of his mana pool for that high melee crit rate, and lost part of his spellcasting versatility because of it. For this reason I don't see shaman as a discreet class, more like 3 potential classes that play very differently from each other.

An elemental shaman will have a much easier time against a warrior than an enhancement shaman. Meanwhile, an enhancement shaman will destroy squishies while other specs will have a harder time. In the rock-paper-scissor match, shamans as a whole can't fit into that generalized metaphor.

I'm rambling anyway. In short, shamans have the potential to be great from skill, but I think their reputation is over-inflated due to the fact that there are so few perceived "papers" to their "rocks". People see an enhancement shaman destroy a mage with melee then see a different resto shaman out-last a paladin, and think the same shaman can do it all. Shamans can do it all, but not nearly as well as generally thought.

Even shorter: the classes are balanced pretty well.

No. Shaman is far from the best class. He's far from the worst too. Shaman is good as it is imo.

I would like to know which talents exactly help restoration shaman break the stunlock.
