I have just spent three days downloading the burning crusade client, only for it not to work, it killed my regular wow i had to download a 350 mb thing afterwards, they could at least say sorry for the inconvinience, i tihnk the waiting time is ridiculous any ideas of how i could get blizzard back? im thinking of letting an infernal loose in the valley of trials or something being a warlock is great...

It's the world's worst downloader, it's their background downloader, it's SUPPOSED to work with tanking as little bandwidth as possible, but, alas it does not.

Mine downloads nearly all of the update...and then stops and says, "oh you appear to be behind a firewall."

Burning crusade client???

This being patch 2.0.1, right?

And mine said that I appear to be behind a firewall (when I was downloading the last two patches) the second half of the time, and it still continued.

man this is a serious problem perhaps we should make a petition or something, get like one hundred people from guilds etc. and get some freaking answers from blizzard why their software is so bad, like i can't play wow anymore, the burning crusade client completely uninstalled my WoW, this may not seem like a problem but i was a trial account and i used my friend's cds to install so i've got to wait another 2 weeks before i can play and i'm paying for this "service" that they give me

Mine is continuing really slow then. It will d/l at a fair clip, tell me I'm behind a firewall, and as I'm monitoring it every once in a while, 4 hours can pass with not a single tenth of a percentage point gain. I'd say that was a dead stop, wouldn't you?

And this is more than once. I'm going to MajorGeeks and see if it's manually downloadable, this is ridiculous.

On my computer when the downloader says "etc. appears to be behind a firewall" it still continues loading, albeit slowly. My computer also takes five hours to download patch 1.8, and twenty minutes to download 2.0.1, so my data might be a little skewed.

What happened to Linus?

What? that confused the heck out of me.

I thought you just said you had dled Warcraft from your friends CDs and have been using a trial account(that only works like 2 weeks). So now you have to make another trial and download again or what? Besides why dont you unload BC client then reinstall WoW. Its really quite simple.
Oh and people, you can disable the background downloader and so stop whining if you hate it >.>

Edit:
Sorry if i was a bit rude there :)

Very very basically, me make trial account me continue trial account me use friends disks to install friend moves to other side of country me install BC client for three days client somehow manage to completely delete ALL of me's WoW files in C; thereby making me unable to play so me have to wait for BC to come out and install it again with new disk, there there's your dumbed down easy to understand version

Wait a god damn second.. tell me why in hell you're downloading the BURNING CRUSADE client? Unless you're a Beta-Tester, that sh*t won't work, so please, stop being an idiot. If you aren't beta-testing, then I wonder how the hell you got the software?
