A payment questionFollow

#1 Dec 28 2006 at 9:31 PM Rating: Decent
Hi :D

My 10 day free trial has just recently expired and lets just say that I loved the game. I wanted to start subscribing but ...

if I buy the game now - I will get 30 more free days with my account right?

And since it is a little before January, my 30 days free will end a little before February, will I have to pay for the month of January since my free 30 days will end in January? OR will my monthly payments begin February 1st?

Thanks~

You get 30 days, beginning on the day you activate. You can choose to do that at your leisure.

Ok thanks, so I get 30 more days, now lets say I activate today, Dec. 29. I get 30 free days, la la la. It is now Jan. 27, my 30 free days has ended, oh noes~.

Will I have to pay the $14.99 monthly fee of January for the 4 remaining days of the month?? Or will Blizz give me a free ticket for the whole month of January and just begin my monthly payments February?

Then the monthly payment starts on Jan 27. And then again Feb 27 and so on.

Indeed, that is how it will work. Unlike other games, like say FFXI, you get billed x days from your last payment, where x=how long you paid for last time. Barring any free days blizz tosses in for various reasons.

In thinking about it, doing it this way also makes it easier for Blizz to toss in those extra days without making their payment tracking truly horrendous. Okay, more horrendous than it already is with over 7.5 million subscribers. Also, it makes the game cards easier to handle.

Say, you're payment date is Jan 27, 2007. Something gets horribly borked up with the xpac and all of the servers are down for 3 days. Now, typically, Blizz will compensate us for this. Rather than making your payment $.75 (3 days worth of service) less, they just right shift the day the next payment is due by 3 days. Simple.

Phew thanks everyone for replies :D

I just came from FFXI and if you started anywhere in the month, you have to pay for it in full... Another reason for me WoW > FFXI
