No, cause then Alliance would end up not doing WSG or AB at all :P

This is probably one of the worst ideas i've heard... Why bother to do any BG at all if you aren't going to get anything but a SLIGHT bit of honor? All this would do is reward premades even more.

Maybe i'm the only one, but I really love the long-drawn out great matchup WSG and AB games. I love grinding out for over an hour with both sides trying to compete.

To lose after that much time invested with no mark would just .. suck.

Horrible idea, it would effectively kill PvP. In any PvP game there are 2 kinds of people who PvP. (this is an old story I used to use in Shadowbane to explain balance) You have sheep and wolves.

Ya see sheeps run the game, they keep things going. They play more they have more money they feel compelled to do more content in game other than just lvl and PvP.

Then you have peopel like me, wolves. We just want to eat sheep. Now many automaticly claim to be wolves if they PvP but there are actually very few wolves in most games. Wolves dont care about phat lootz and pretty gear. In fact I wish I could make myself look like a vagabond but still have gear that has the best stats. I dont want to look like a powerful war general not thats for the sheep. Im a wolf I want to go unnoticed unrewarded and I dont give a crap about the story line lore or doing raid or even instances for christ sakes I skip almost all of this and just powerlevel/grind to the lvl I want to PvP and eat sheep.

Now you want to only reward the winner, I can understand this. And the winner should certainly feel like they did in fact win something. However if the loser gets nothing then you have a problem. Cause now a high percent of the sheep are going to feel like its worthless. Or at best not worthless but risky. They are risking spending lots of time and getting nothing. Sheep cannot have this. There has to be a purpose.

If sheep get bored and leave that leaves nothing for the wolf and PvP is dead. The sheep move on and do other things, the wolves like me will have to leave the game in search of more sheep willing to PvP with wolves.

Even worse than the honor marks imho.

Depending on the loss of course, but if you get 0 honor for losing in anything I will tell you that PvP will die by that Wednesday.

So I should be punished for not winning? What if I was fighting a premade full of twinks? How would I win? Why would I bother trying to win if it's close to a guarantee that I will lose?

The way blizzard gives out marks is fine, now IMO they need to work on the twink problem, such as the gear match up somehow. I don't know how it would be implemented, but it should be .

EDIT: Damn you anobix, you beat me to this by seconds....

How to kill PvP in 5 easy steps

1. Zero honor for losing side - not even for honorable kills. If you can't even win, you deserve no honor.

2. No marks for losing side - this will make freshly minted level 60s fight better against Naxx-geared raiders and premade GM/HWL teams.

3. Honor decay - unbelievable that they removed this. If you don't quit your job and PvP 24/7 you don't deserve gear upgrades.

4. Repair costs and honor penalty for every death! Make the 'overgeared but underskilled' truly suffer.

5. A proper matching system that pairs up premade Horde groups with zero queue time against random Alliance losers with 30 minute queue time for maximum honor & mark generation per hour. Oh wait, isn't that how it already work... :-D

Fine by me... why play it if your not going to win?

Maybe to have fun. I play Horde so I know when I enter AV theres a 80% chance I'll lose, but I still enjoy it. It's my fav battleground as it's the only one that does'nt feel like a grind (for me anyway)

I've always seen getting one token for a lose as a medel for taking part.

When BGs first came out, the losing team was not rewarded with any marks (and the winning team was rewarded with 1 IIRC).

This was changed for the specific reason that people who go in and take part, were not getting any of the rewards for doing so. They then changed it to the current 3 & 1 method to keep winning more rewarding, but to also reward those who took part but didn't get the win. (This is when marks actually meant something).

Now the idea to remove honor and marks from the losing team sounds all fine and good to stick it to those few honor leeches in each AV game (or the one or two in AB). But it's not worth nerfing everyone else's honor grind to stick it to a few leeches.

Think of AV. One side turtles and the game goes on for 2hrs. After 2hrs one team finally wins. Is it fair to the losing team who spent 2hrs in there to walk out empty handed?

Then you have everyone AFKing out of a match as soon as they know they are losing.

Yea, you didn't really think that through.

If they added a "winner's" mark and required some small number of them to purchase certain items, then people might start playing to win again.

If this happened there would be no horde getting their weapons because they require AV marks.

Instead of no honor for losing just give the winning side more honor. Maybe it will force people to think of strategies, because I guarantee (know) a lot of people on this game are simple minded.

Then what make allies so bad in wsg and ab? Why won't they try? win? Why is every time I step into one, they say don't take a node, let the horde win as soon as possible?

What can be done to make them think like horde? I play to win, and if i don't win, and I didn't recieve anything for it, then i had best try harder next time so i do.

It's now common knowledge that the horde always win wsg and ab. That's been beat into your brains and you actually believe it. It's not my fault I want something better for our faction.

why is it that my premade never goes against teams like that... man that would be nice.

I don't, five capping them with no resistance is boring.

Five capping them since you can just crush their offense and sneak enough people around to distract them while you take stables? That's entertaining.

It's a lot more entertaining when you do it against a guild in full tier 2 with some tier 2.5.

And it's even more entertaining when you do all of the above... in a full Horde PuG.

Just in case you were wondering though, Horde tend to pull the same "give up its hopeless lol" crap in AV that you apparently see in WSG/AB.

I think it was because your first post came across as a short pointless rant rather than an opinion. You could have turned the thread into a "What would give people more incentive to win a BG" Then it would have been directed at both factions. Alliance WSG - AB and Horde AV. And also started a decent discussion.

Just my opinion.
