WTFPwned by my 5yr oldFollow

This is short clip of my 5yr old son playing World of Warcraft in Warsong Gultch with his lvl 23 dwarf hunter. As an avid WoW player, I admit that he is THE %@!* for being 5yrs old! It's nothing fancy, but shows how talented my 5yr old is. The best part is that he is probably more mature than some of the other players! He can't read so he completely ignores the qq'ers and plays to HAVE FUN!

Click Here to view the video.

You can also view some of my other vids from my girlgam3r website as well.

Just thought I'd share to the community, my son loves playing with everyone! Please pass it on!

He knew enough to drop a freezong trap on that rouge. Excellent work for a 5 year old indeed.

Congrats, but..this also shows how little it takes to PvP..which is kinda sad ;>.

haha, that's sweet. i had a similar situation when one of my campers (last summer i was the instructor at a day camp/sailing camp on the harbor) who was 6 informed me that he also played WoW. i asked what level he was, incredulously, and he told me he was a 26 gnome mage.

then i asked how he was able to complete quests and whatnot since he can't read, and he answered that he "figures it out eventually."

i got a kick out of it.

Where I'm from, Inu, you don't start elementary school until age 5-7.

I just died inside.

When you grow up kid, come back and tell me which got you farther in life; reading or a video game.

Do I even need to say it?

My 6 year old son has a level 44 hunter. He would make me stop playing every few minutes to read the quests and tell him what he needed to do. I ran him trough all the instances up to RFD. He even ground out the money for his own mount. There are somethings he doesn't understand but all in all he has fun.

5 and 6 year olds reading? Most of them are still in kindergarten. I don't know too many kids that can read at that age but can you think of a better motivator to learn then playing a game. I mean I learned how to type just to chat.

Thats cool. My son is 3 and Im teaching him how to move and do different functions on WoW. He's getting better but obviously not PvP ready yet.

Good choice on the hunter, just have to teach him to shoot use certain buttons when they are far and certain buttons when they are close. No offense to hunters but they are ez mode.

Still though your kid seems to have some idea on strategy.

QFT. In fact, if more kids read a few good books once in a while, we wouldn't have any more of these, "ZOMG, U Jtsu ownde em!! I Haet yuo!!" or any more spelling errors and the such in forums like ours.

so all in all, Reading >(x10) Video Games

My daughter just turned 8 yesterday, and she has a level 41 Undead mage. And she did pvp alot until she hit 40-she mostly just rides around on her mount now. And she reads on a 4th or 5th grade level-she was the only kid in the reading program in her Kindergarten class. Yes, I taught her to read early, but some kids get it and some don't. Did the same with my nephew when he was 4 and he didn't catch on.

Since she does read, we had her turn off chat in many areas(esp LFG when it was around).

She also has pvped on her lvl 26 Nelf hunter-sometimes she'd end up capping all 3 flags and tell us how she was the only one on her side doing anything good! LOL!

You don't need to read aslong as you know what each symbol means. I assume that's how you taught them to play?

Who said anything about not learning to Read?

Awww, that video was adorable! I have a five year old and a three year old both boys and that vid reminds me of when I let my own five year old play. He hasn't played in a BG yet but he's alright grinding out mobs and such. Not quite as talented as your guy yet but he'll get there. ;) He reads a bit but some of the words are a little "big" for him still. I help him out a little. He's not allowed to have the chat pane up at all so he's safe there.

He likes to play as a tauren more than anything else so we have a 30 tauren shaman that he plays now. (My fiance lets him play it now, since he plays his human warlock more. ^^) He levelled it from 15 to 30 so he's pretty decent at it. It's interesting to see other parents that have children the same age as mine letting them play. It's always fun to see families enjoying things like this together.

Great video! And to all those avid readers out there let the little man do it in his own time, if he enjoys Wow now I'm sure he'll get onto fantasy novels etc. in due course.
My son is only 1.5 years old but he loves to watch my tauren run around and gets quite excited when all the spells go off or he changes shape (druid), My son even says "cat" but with more of a K than c every time I shape shift into travel form. Alas he also gets a little grumpy when I get ganked... <cough> for the horde.

That was cute. He did a great job, were you his healer though? Looked like he had a shield most of the time, but still he was pretty damn good.

All of you bashing the little kid for not reading yet, shut up and think of the last REAL "ADULT" BOOK you read and I don't mean some stupid anime BS either. He's a five-year-old that is still in kindergarten where it's fingerpainting not reading Hemingway or Fitzgerald.
#25 Dec 28 2006 at 8:54 AM Rating: Decent
My 6 year old, if he would play his hunter would be a higher lvl. Right now he's lvl 34, and has a druid that is lvl 20. Most of his lvl'ing comes from grinding, and I help him out with quests when he asks.

He also likes to help out people with deadmine runs. I think he got that from me when I ran him through the DM so he could get all the defias gear when he needed it.

As far as reading, he can make out some of what is said. WoW has also helped him with his typing and spelling. I don't know to many 6 y/o's that can spell chicken, train, whistle and most of the other emotes.

He also likes to PVP a lot. He's been spending more time in BG and arenas goofing around then anything.

EDIT: I noticed in the vid he use's the arrow keys to. I tried to get my son to use the wasd keys, but he's so used to arrows that he won't change. BTW I got a zboard keyboard with the LE BC keyset....asked my son if he wanted one, and he said no. I take it home and now he wants it for the keyset with the big arrows onthe side.

BTW Great Vid.

I lol'ed, love the jammies.....Play's just like my son. Gotta get him to send that pet in!!!

Psst.. we were bashing the person that said there was no need to read in life.

Some people are surprised that the child hasn't started reading, but no one was bashing his kid.

Maybe you should try this reading thing yourself. Smiley: wink2
