I recently got a nice new dagger (Charstone Dirk) for my shaman from mauradon, and I was thinking of enchanting it.

A friend of mine said i should go for the winters might enchant, and get the additional 7 frost damage.

Im all for it, I have most of the mats. And i hopefully will not be using this weapon for long, I have my eyes on the healing mace from BRD, as soon as I level up just a tad more.

Would it be better to do that, or spend the extra $$ and buy + spell power. The costs of it is outrageous for a weapon that i dont plan on using for a couple of levels, but honestly i have most of the mats currently.

Its a toss up between the winters might, spell power, or just a plain old fiery just because its tried and true.

Please when you recommend which one, keep in mind, the costs, the fact that I will only be using the weapon for a few levels.

Nah, I dont think I will be doing that. Slap a crusader on a resto shaman's dagger?

What's the point of enchanting something you only plan on using for a short period of time?

I would save the mats and use it on something that you'll keep for a while.

I did, but only because my healing mace just begs to be used in melee. My melee damage was still **** though; I wouldn't recommend it.

Stay away from winter's might: it'll just give each frost shock (and only frost shock) about +3 damage.

I wouldn't go too crazy with the top-end enchants either, especially with the expansion coming. Spell power won't affect your heals anyway (iirc); you need to choose +spell power or +healing power. My personal top-end favorite would be +22 INT... but all three are rather expensive.

Unfortunately the "budget" 1-hander weapon enchants are all melee damage related, so firey might turn out to be your best bet. It's okay though, resto shamans can still melee, just know which mobs AoE and silence.

i'd only put spell power on a weapon i plan on using for a while. so not before level 60 and not on something that's a hold-over. too expensive.

melee enchants you can do just for fun if you're resto, but in that case i wouldn't even bother with the fiery. and yes, frost damage is weak for a shaman.

NOES! Go for the agi +15, you never know when you run out of mana, your wand is broken and that last melee crit will kill that mob =P

Save your spell power mats for when you actually have a weapon you plan on keeping.
