Listing of Class Forums

I would suggest you look throug hthe various class forums and read their FAQS. These will give you a general idea of what each class does. From there, I would suggest taking the top few that interests you and play them till they are about level 15 or 20. This will give you a good idea of what those classes feel like to play, and from there you can make an informed descision on what class you want to play.

The main thing to remember is that this is a game, so just play the class that is fun to you.

I have a question if anyone could help me out. I just started playing WoW, the trial version, and I'm hooked. It had me hooked instantly and I've been playing quite a bit (lvl 18 pally, close to the lvl 20 trial cap). Anyway my question is mainly about the new expansion of The Burning Crusade. My trial is up in about a week and I have the money burning a hole in my pocket to buy the regular version.I mean if I get a regular WoW game, is there a patch when TBC is released that will upgrade my current character with the new features (ie new lvl cap, skills, profession, use of new equipment etc), or will I be stuck at lvl 60 and not have use of the new spells and talents (ie if you started a new human paladin in Elwyn forest with TBC will they have the availability of new talents/spells/lvl cap over creating the same character without TBC?
- Basically do I have to fork out $60 for both instead of $20 for one to get the new features or will they be available w/o TBC and I just won't be able to travel to the new areas.

You will have to purchase the burning crusade to get the new content, Im pretty sure even if you dont you will still be able to level to 70 and get some of the lesser content.

I would recomend checking out the class forums on the O boards, you don't need to pay attention to details but you can get a good feel for the different classes from people who are currently playing them.

You will first have to upgrade your account to the current release, which is selling for $20 in many places, and then you will have to upgrade on 1/16/07 to TBC if you want to access the new races, new areas and a lot of content.

AFAIK, the level cap for the original version will remain at 60. However, It's a long way between L20 and L60 (most people take months), so there's time to save up the dough to get it later. If you're having fun with your current low-level characters, there's no reason to rush out and buy TBC right away.

Also, you will be able to use the new talents (which I believe you should already be using right now...

Now, the 60+ spells, nope.

True enough. However, if you want to go ahead and get it, you will have the new races available. Also, even for relatively low levels that aren't Drainei or Blood Elves, you could trek on over to the new starting zones (boat from Darkshore, or Teleport from Undercity) explore and do quests there.
