The path to ravenholt starts in the hillsbrad north of dunhold keep - if I remember correctly the start is due north or slightly west of the H in the dunhold when seen on your map (press 'M'). It is hard to find but is the only way up the mountain

edit: apologies if names are mis-spelt

When I was doing my Rogue quest to find this place I found these directions on the discussion of that quest here on Alla.

Quote:
Okay, here are directions as clear as I can make them.

Look at the Hillsbrad map. Start at the southernmost house shown in Tarren Mill. Directly east of that, across the river, is what looks like sort of a mesa. Go around the southern side of that, and then follow the east side to the north - up into the mountains. When you get to the top, look slightly to the east. You should see a path (it's not terribly obvious, but if you look you can tell it's a pretty even width ledge going up into the mountains). If you can't find it, move directly east from the top of the mesa shown on the map and follow that "wall" northward, and you'll find it. The path leads you straight to Ravenholdt.

Good luck!

Of course if you are Alliance, don't get too close to Tarren Mill. :)

11. I see coordinates show up on some posts. How do I get coordinates to display in my game?
The stock game does not display map coordiantes. You need to use an add-on in order to display them. Many different coordinate addons can be found at curse-gaming:

Punky Coords
Koordinator
cMinimapCoordinates

Additionally many full-blown interfaces like Titan Panel, have the feature built in.

or, you can create a macro:

Create a macro using this script (just copy & paste it):

/script px,py=GetPlayerMapPosition("player")
/script DEFAULT_CHAT_FRAME:AddMessage(format("[ %s ] %i , %i",GetZoneText(),px*100,py*100));

You click on the macro and it will give you your coordinates in the chat pane.

Now you can use all those quest tips where they only give you coordinates for the mob/item you are looking for.
*note* this macro has been tested under patch 2.0.1

I use koordinator.
it's not intrusive, and on the map screen it tells you your current coordinates and the mouse cursor coordinates (useful if yuo're lookinf for a certain location on the map)
