Hunters with 2 pets?Follow

Hello guys. Ok here's the question. One of my fellow guild officers made a statement claiming that Blizzard is giving Hunter's a second pet. As a 50 hunter, that doesn't seem feasible to me...however I just wanted to check on the accuracy of the statement. Anybody else heard anything about this? Is it coming out w/ the expansion or is this just kind of a wishy washy claim. Any help would be great.

Active? At the same time? wow. Sounds like a stretch to me.

That would be tough to work out wouldn't it, I mean you would have to give two seperate petattack comands, wouldn't that be a little too complicated. Also another note as hunters are a pretty powerful class as is, wouldn't that just tip the balance and make hunters just a little too powerful.

I could not imagine them EVER doing that.

We would own in PvE, Tank pet and DpS pet.

We would own in PvP.

In fact, I think we would just eat face.

One thing is for sure, no caster would ever stand a chance.

There were some vague rumors some time ago that the hunter hero class would gain a second pet. Blizzard has said that hero classes were just a concept, and they have no real plans for them. So... no, hunters won't be getting a second pet slot. There will be new pet types in BC though... Warp Stalkers, Dragonhawks, Ravagers, Spore Bats, Nether Rays... Petopia has all the details (click on "The Burning Crusade closed beta pet info," along the left side).

That's about what I expected. I appreciate the prompt answers. I agree that 2 pets would overpower hunters, unless they lowered the attack power of each of them. Which would suck and be complicated.

My hunter can have two pets out at a time, but only one of them can actually fight.

The other one is a parrot. YARR!

I was just trying to think of the impact of two Bestial Rage pets and my brain shut down.

It may happen with Hero Classes, but those are so ethereal at the moment it's really hard to say.

Can we say "Overpowered", I know we can!~ Such a shame it will never happen though. They dynamics of it would be a lil complicated.

My guess would be that the two pet talent would be that you can have two pets active so to speak but only one able to fight at a time. You could have your solo pet and grouping pet with you at all times and just whistle to switch between them.

That's how I think it would be done anyway.

2 pets for hunters? thats just rediculos. Thats like giving Demo locks Grim Reach Nightfall Dark Pact and Unstable Affliction.

2 pets? that might make hunters too strong (BM spec hunter at that).

I'm guessing it's just a pet you can summon every 30min and lasts only a few seconds. Added DPS for a short duration only.

I started a hunter a day ago, am already level 18 already they seem powerful as-is, although I really enjoy them.. don't need more stuff, they are already good.. also I checked out the talents and it isnt in MM or BM or the other one..MM has silencing shot, BM has the beast within, and the other one i never even bother memorizing cuz i hate that talent tree :P

You can however have a pet and a guardian at the same time (and a housepet as well), though guardians are usually shortlived, and any other class has the same access to them.

Tamers in UO could have several pets out at the same time. Nothing like sicking a pack of dragons on someone. *smiles* But WoW is a very different game. I read some rumors about hunters being allow two pets out at a time before the BC talents and spells were released, but that’s all they appear to have been. While I would love to have two pets out simultaneously, I have to agree with the others that it would be far too powerful. Each class would have to get a huge increase in power before hunters would be given this ability.

It was just a rumor. The 41 point talent is, of course, The Beast Within.
