Ok, so as it is I am about to reach 50 and shall finally be in level range for (the dreaded) AV.

I shall not enter until I level a bit further but I am planning on spending some time there to grind for my pvp epics, and as I have read a lot of stuff I don't understand about AV I wanted to see if any good hordies here would give me some insight on it.

So, could anyone share their knowledge about objectives, the purpose of "collecting" and "upgrading troops" and such, and some general strategy ?

Any useful info about the Battleground will be very welcome as all I know about it is a bit of the terrain itself.

Oh, and please keep the ranting about how people don't even try to do it right at minimum possible please, i don't want to feel defeated before even trying xS

Thanks in advance !

I dont even know if AVs last long enough to upgrade troops or summon Ivus anymore. Most of the ones im in are over in around 20 minutes because everone rushes Stonehearth graveyard, and then on to Stormpike to solo pull Vandar as fast as possible.

Oh, and dont defend Iceblood GY. Thats the biggest problem for horde in AV. When you kill the alliance at IB they have no place to rez but SP GY which is behind your front lines. This creates a big defense that stops the horde long enough for the alliance to get into the horde base and win. If you want to defend do it at Frostwolf GY.

The alliance strategy goes like, let the horde take SH GY which gives them a rez point away from the offense. All alliance goes offense to create a big push in case of a turtle around IB GY and the horde in the south will kill enough alliance to make a heavy defense at SP. That means they need zero defense to start out and get to use full force on the initial push, and are given a great number on defense for free.

Horde always complain about loosing AV (and I loose almost ALL of them on my shaman) but as ive noticed, it is always the horde's own fault they loose.

Thanks and well, just in case I get into one of these big turtle fights I'd like to know how to upgrade and summon that Ivus guy, if it's actually half worth it.
And please do tell me a bit about horde strategy, I posted this in horde forums after all :P

C'mon people, help me out here, there can't be so many hordie's complaining about how people don't do it right and then not giving out any advice on how you could do it right. I want to know more.

My point was that horde need to take the advise from the alliance. Quit turteling around Iceblood and let the alliance cap it as soon as possible to give them somewhere to rez away from their base. Frostwolf GY is so open that its tough to defend for too long, but the horde base can be defended by 10 people against 30 forever just the way Stormpike GY can.

As for the armor scraps there isnt anything to explain. You loot them, you turn them in.

Search is a great feature:

As he pointed out mate, AV dont really last long. i try to get ram hides and round up some wolves, but nobody helps. By the time you get to the last few, the game finishes. I find horde very unhelpfull in most case's.

If your horde its best just to listen to one person, back him up (because to many people try to give orders) Start of game we normally rush stormpike graveyard ignoreing any enemy on way. If you capture that way before the alliance capture our FW gy, you have a chance of winning. 9/10 alliance will beat us to it because from my exp in AV, horde would rather stop rushing and fight around SF GY. Kinda pointless. But it happens.

Not much info for you, just some opinion based facts. I hope you get a good AV raid.

Thanks ! both of you.

Im about half up 49 at the moment, but I'm kind of itching to get there. You see most of my guildies tend to complain about how usually alliance won AV, and it was I who had to give them the idea of joining at the same time to try to make a precarious "pre-made" so we can start working our guild Pvp-wise. So I wanted to know a bit instead of running in blindly into battle.
With some luck Ts with my guildies and a bit of organization might help us get horde a bit further and maybe summon Ivus (which does seem nice) and collecting scraps and such resources.

Thanks to crossed it has ocurred to me to look for quests in AV ^_^' so I am up for some reading on that. (if anyone could point out what they think is the relative usefulness of the quests it'd be nice tho)

Any more relevant information and/or advice will be welcome as usual ^^

Although not as efficent as wolfs you can get supplys from the mines and turn them in to start a foot solider assult. If you can get the god, wolfs, foot soldiers and air support all working togeather almost nothing can stop you.

The best advice for AV. Unless you are in a group of uber players who are going to roll over the Alliance (which is awfully rare). The most common result of defending Iceblood is an hour long game where the alliance wins anyway.

or instead of giving up the choke point in the front (Galv/IB), wait til the allys cap SF before capping SH that way they all spawn at SF instead of SP.

Good luck convincing 39 other people that they should wait a little bit instead of "ZOMG ZERG!!1111". If you do manage to convince them, i commend you.
