Interesting idea for a mod, help needed.Follow

So I got to thinking, I remember someone on here got a beta key for making a chocobo noise mod....

We were fighting the ZG spider boss at the time (not a real big challenge for us) and it hit me.

I know FF isn't WoW, and I especially wouldn't want WoW to be like FFXI at all.

But would it be possible to make a mod, that parses the combat log looking for boss kills i.e. "_____ has died." and have it play the FF victory theme when it comes across one?

I dunno, I just think it'd be kinda neat-o to have a mod like that, but I have no experience what-so-ever in making mods and such.
Any thoughts on the subject?

*raises hand* That was me with the Chocobo Mount Mod. That kind of a mod isn't very hard at all, although you have to be careful (don't want it to play the sound five times if you kill five mobs at the same time, for obvious reasons).

If you're looking for a premade one, I'd recommend a mod like Soundtrack that comes pre-made. You can customize a lot of sound effects through it.

Haha, thanks RP.

Yea I was just thinking for it to play only when you kill a boss, like rag, broodlord, nef, ect.
Aside from a few boss fights, most of em are 1 vs 20 or 40.

The annoying factor would come in on fights like skeram though, I'm sure. lol

As I recall there's a "BossBattleVictory" event in Soundtrack. I wrote my own mod since Soundtrack was just too clunky and I didn't especially care for the interface, but it'll definitely do what you want it to.

Bigwigs boss mods has that EXACT feature, as well as being one of the top boss mods out there. There is a version out for 2.0 as well. once again, that's "BigWigs Boss Mod"
