Gold sellers hitting new lows....Follow

Okay, we all know gold sellers suck so I'll skip that rant.

My problem is at least on my server, they're at an all time low. They are blatantly advertising their sites in four line spams on the channels in just about every high use zone.

Really corny RP style advertisments too. I mean REALLY corny.

Ignore them you say? I do, they change their name daily so that's no good. It's getting really annoying and it bothers me to no end that they get away with this. They should all be crushed like the blood sucking filth they are...

Yes, I've noticed that it's gone from whispers to in-game mail to actual general chat. Saw it in Westfall the other night. Of course all the responses were telling this guy off, but most likely he was already gone and off to the next zone or server.

I just wish I knew who the ones were on the AH so I wouldn't buy from them there. After seeing some bots in Hinterlands on the beach with the turtles, I just knew there would be a gazillion turtle scales and rugged leather on the AH(alliance though, I'm horde where I saw them) and I would not want to buy from them and help out their "cause".

Yeah I have seen it too, my first thought would be to report them, however I looked and wasn't sure what category I could file my complaint under, I mean it really wouldn't be verbal harrasment, is there like a general complaint area to file for violations such as these?

You can file it under verbal harrassment.

I see this too and I simply report them everytime.

It only takes 2 seconds to submit a GM ticket.

Same here. Some days I won’t see it at all. Other days I’ll have twenty or more such general chat advertisements. They even manage to find me in out of the way zones. It’s extremely frustrating. I’m sure Blizzard isn’t very happy about it either. I just hope they find a better means of controlling it.

I've seen those RP messages (and I play on normal server). It's really corny. "Santa drops scrolls out of his bag and you notice one falls down on your he". The message ends there, they dont even finish it. :D

I cant believe they still exist though, there must be a whole lot of people buying gold. How pathetic.

Report Every goldseller you see, include which website they are advertising and what the user name was, blizz is making an effort to thwart them, just need a little cooperation from users =)

I got three of these in Winterspring last night. I reported each to a GM- each was a level 1 character. Presumably, the put out the message, log out, delete the character, create a new character, repeat the message, log out, etc., etc., etc.

They have now started with the christmas themed advertising - and one thing i would like to know is how do they get lvl1's into winterspring? Run all the way from NE starting zone to die a couple of hundred times through felwood and timbermaw hold, just to delete the character after use?

They probably have a high lvl char to summon that lvl 1. By doing so, their high lvl char don't get banned.

But really, it's Blizzard's fault. It's very easy to ban the account (not char) of the gold seller. If the gold seller has to spend $20 to get a new account, only to have it banned in 1 day, no one would do it. It's like, when you have criminals selling cracks in your shopping mall, you know the government got to be blamed.

I witnessed a level 1 advertising in Molten Core general chat. There has to be a way to change channels without being in that zone; no other way I can think of.

Yeah it's gotten really bad. A few days ago I had to make 6 reports in one day from the various /tell and General chat spam. Usually after some waiting time I'd end up speaking to a GM but that particular day they just opted to send an automated message saying they were aware and working on the problem. They must have been swamped with complaints that day.

Got lvl 1's broadcasting the Naxx general chat as well. Somehow they managed to contact the chat servers from outside the game. I hope Blizz is gonna fix that fast.

Yeah I get those through whisper, mail and general chat and what not. For crying out we even get a general message while in AV and I go O.o

The one thing that I've heard is that they use free trial accounts so they don't have to pay Blizz anything, and Blizz can't do anything about it because of that...

i've got those general chat messages too, and when i was in gnomer i wondered who or what it was cause it isnt to easy to just drop in there at lvl 1
i clicked the name and saw that it was a lvl 1 in the human starter area.
so i guess they have a way of spamming into the entire world.. also because i couldnt ignore the player, it didnt exist anymore. and 5 min later there was a new one, also immideately deleted.
and banning the accounts wouldnt help to much i think, blizzard will have to take on the websites those people are advertising for.

Whether you are looking for game currency, power leveling, game account, game items or game time card, ****** provides these diverse services at competitive prices while ensuring top-notch standards.

they actually make it look like it is legal and improving your game experience :(
and they dont need lvl 60's to get gold, they have a big advertisement on there site with: How to trade in your ingame gold for $$$

they only need the high lvl's for power leveling, and i think they have a lot of people with lvl 60's so if one gets deleted that person has a new one within 24 hours... and since they also sell accounts they dont care to much about 1 account getting banned...

we had this on a few other servers and the best thing to do is just report them. its that simple. the GMs chase them down and ban the accounts.

As bad as the gold sellers are you have to remember that they are supported by a large body of trash players who are as much to blame as the gold sellers, maybe Blizzard should go on a mass banning binge to reign in these buttmunching gold buyers who are ruining the game for everyone else.

Report every single one you see. Include the server time, channel, the spammer's name, and the website that they're advertising for. If a GM can find the advertisement in the chat logs (hence why you include the time and channel), they DO ban the spammer immediately.

I have started to report every single one I see on Medivh, and I have noticed the number of ads have gone down considerably...from multiples every day to less than two or three a week.

Edit: Yes, you can join any channel from anywhere in the world.

So they're not hacking then?

Someone in the chat a while back had said they were hacking, which I didn't know how to respond to since I didn't know how to join other chats.

And to someone who doesn't know that, it does kinda look like some sort of hacking

They use some sort of hack that allows them access to the /general region channels no matter where they are. They can sit in a city and spam every general region without moving. Its creepy how often they do it too. I hate having a hack being used that commonly on a game I pay money for, ya know? I've tried reporting them, but they log after spamming all the channels. I tried emailing Blizzard explaining that hey, these people are hacking ALL the time, can't you DO anything? I just got the standard response and a link to the terms about not cheating or hacking. Yeah, sending THAT to the wrong person. Smiley: banghead They really need to fix the loophole they're using to be in general regardless of where their toon is.

*Edit: I saw a post a couple up about joining general validly. That was fixed a long time ago so it shouldn't be possible. I admit tho, I haven't tried it in a long time.

They do. This also makes it impossible to /ignore them.

We get them all the time in MC and BWL from level 1 characters in Teldrassil. I don't know how they do it.
