Break up the factions?Follow

Well my friend had an interesting idea that he gave to me.

What if you took the 2 factions, and split them up into 5 factions?

Undead& Blood Elf (love of chaos)

Orc& Troll (Dont need to explain this)

Tauren& Dranei (Love for nature)

Gnome&Dwarf (see for orc& troll)

Night Elf& Human (Share the most humanoid resemblenses of all races)

Tell me what you think?

I'd say more Tauren and NE, since they're the Druids. Dranei are more "For the light" than nature (Yes, some are shaman, but they're more lighty people)

Personally, I don't see why they would do this. It was bad enough in Matrix online when there were 3 factions. There was always 1 side that had more than the other 2, and the 2 lesser ones would end up allying. Until Side 1 ended up having less than the others and so then side 2 got control and ect ect.

It wouldn't be Warcraft anymore. Warcraft is about Alliance vs. Horde.

Nah, wouldn't work. The Human/Night Elf combo would completely overrun everyone else. Horribly unbalanced.

I just wish I could turn on the PvP flag and kill some annoying people in my own faction sometimes.

Would be ok but not great. I wish there were no factions at all and PvP servers should be open PvP, meaning you can attack people even of the same race/class/faction.

More realistic for any world even fantasy, as there will always be people who murder their own.

But I played Shadowbane for 3 years, so being ganked and ganking comes second nature to me.

I'm a carebear deep down, but I'd love to see a co-op server, where you can do quests and gain faction with both sides. I may never play on it, but I think a lot of folks would jump at the chance. The official reason why that won't ever be done is that it would ruin any continuity they may have for future non-MMO games. That small subset of the MMO crowd would go "WTF we're at war again?" when the next RTS comes out while everyone else would see it flow perfectly well in the world... of warcraft.

Also you can fight your own faction in the arenas. I got my rear handed to me by an ex-guildmate in there. Frickin' hunters.

Yea its not that I want to kill just anyone from my own faction, its that I want to kill everyone who I dont know, or isnt a regular trader with me.

But again if you know anything about shadowbane then you understand why someone who played it for so long doesnt like restrictions.
