Thanks ohmikeghod, I was beginning to think I was the only one. I always tell them they should take up herbalism or mining.

Once on a boat someone was begging with /say to the whole boat. People were like "no way", etc.

me - /say Today is a good day to take up a gathering profession.
begger - why?
me - To make money.
begger - oh
. . . . .
begger - WTF

Someone in Aerie Peak a few weeks ago actually asked me for 30c. I told him to go kill something! He replies with "lol I aint got time for that I need to mail something" and I replied with "well I don't have time for beggars" as I was flying away and then /ignore.

And then there was the guy in WPL the other day who actually begged me for epic mount money! I didn't even know him! /slap

I didn't know about the new /ignore feature, being able to choose it from clicking on their name-I am certain it will get used more often now with me.

me: who is your guild leader?
beggar: <guild leaders name>

2 minutes later...
beggar: why?
me: i just mailed him about your begging.

No one's begged me on my server. Could be that I'm not 60 though.. Although I'm convinced that all the kids from other Alliance servers all rolled Horde on my server though... I can't find a decent guild to save my life.

But I do like Malorne though.

Yeah I have found it has become a bigger and bigger problem on my server...

Sometimes I think it is gold sellers try a new tactic...ask enough people for 1g and it adds up...

but seriously I have had guildies help me out...get a lock in my group, invite the begger and port their newb **** to the middle EPL or some other far away land, ahh good times!

I was showing the kinder softer gentler me, instead of the usual dirty rotten loathsome despicable belligerent curmudgeon that I usually am. It keeps the opposition guessing.

I am surprised they even knew their own guild leader's name.

When people beg me for gold, I simply open a trade window with them, type in 100 gold, but don't click trade, and see how long the idiots will sit there and wait.

I had an interesting experience the other day.

I loath beggars. I really do. It’s not as if money is a mater of life or death for our characters like it is in the real world. So I tend to grumble to myself and place beggars on my ignore list.

The other day I was in the dwarven starting area with one of my 60 hunters. I was doing quests in out of the way areas of the zone for reputation. A second level beggar came up to me. To my surprise he was polite. He role-played his request. And he only asked for 10 coppers. To my even greater surprise I not only give him the money, but I later regretted not giving him more.

I should have learned the name of the player and started him on the road to run for president of the United States. I think he’d be sure winner.

I play on AoS also, but I don't see this

Course, it could be because I don't play on Alliance... So perhaps the sides are different in the regard?

On my server, there are even people begging people in Naxx over whisper, asking them to come over and give them gold. Sometimes to faraway places like Aszhara or Blasted Lands :S
#41 Dec 19 2006 at 8:21 AM Rating: Decent
Why dony just putin a new rule, if you whisper more than one level 60 in less than 5 minutes saying the words, need, give, money, please, you get pvp flagged and either done so over people of the horde/alliance (with ever you are) can kill you, or you get dropped in the centre of the enemies capital while pvp flagged, and there we have it no more beggers.

beggar: Excuse me. Are you a nice person?
me: Yes.
beggar: Then give me 1g plz plz
me: No.
beggar: plz !

Another time:

/beggar opens trade
beggar: money pls!
me: no
beggar: /spit

First fact, Both of those are High LoL content.

Second fact, It's not nice to lie to beggers.

beggar: Excuse me. Are you a nice person?
me: No.
beggar: Lol yes you are
me: /yell Am I a nice person or an ornery *******?
random person: /yell An Ornery *******!
me: I rest my case
beggar: plz !

(Even if the random person says nice person, I say I rest my case because that person is a known pathalogical Liar, Then if they try to disagree after I say I rest my case, I question them as to how long they have been on the server. (Once in a while the lvl 2 dummy will respond with a month or something, which then I just blow his whole begging scam.) Otherwise they either tell the truth and its a short time or they try to play the roll of a newbie more. Which then I ask them how they would know I'm not an Ornery ******* (or that that person isn't a pathalogical liar.).

Then if it somehow goes longer I proceed to really be an ornery ******* (and maybe CoD them money...
