Ok just have a few questions. Should be straight forward and simple.

I'm a warrior just dinged level 20-23 on sunday. Got dual wield, of course just had to use two weapons. It's pretty badass I like it a lot, probably won't use it for conventional means in instances since I went the path of protection and the shield moves are very useful for stopping shamans and priests from healing themselves. Anyway, does off-hand weapons do less damage than normal weapons, or is the damage the same regardless of which hand it is equipped.

Second question. I am getting more abilities than can fit on my 1-= button range and falling into the second set. I have come across many problems with this set-up. As it stands now, I have my buffs in area 2(where you have to click the up and down arrow on screen), and I have my attacks and enemy de-buffs in area 1.

1.) in a regular fight against normal npcs, or even the more hp of elites, it is not very convinient, because it takes to much time to switch between the 2 areas for it to be very functional.
2.)Same problem in PvP, only the fights usually are much quicker, both in length and pace of fight.

So my question, is there an add-on that allows for more on screen button? Even if it requires me to click them with my mouse, while still retaining the first 12 abilities that are already on screen.

Also is there a way to make it so the number pad (the right calculator portion of the keyboard) is able to activate my abilities? See now what I have to do(more a PvP example since it is much faster paced), with my left hand I was be moving using the W,A, and D buttons, and select my target using the mouse. Then once an enemy is selected, I switch over, moving with the arrow keys with my right hand, and using my left hand for my abilities.

This is not very effective, because if I am being ganged up on, I can't switch, say I'm fighting a 1 on 1 with another warrior. Then a priest comes along, well it is no point trying to keep fighting the warrior if the priest is just going to heal him, to switch targets I will have to switch hands, my right would have to go to the mouse which will make me stationary leaving me vulnerable, so I was thinking if I could keep moving around with my left hand and the letter keys, I could easily switch up pressing the numberpad keys for abilities to using the mouse to select a new target.

Also anyone elses playstyles would also be helpfull to me, I tend to take other peoples preferences into consideration and adapt them to my own playstyle.

Off hand has a penalty on damage, also when you dual wield you miss more often with your weapons. Over all, there is a nice DPS increase, but far from double if you have 2 identical weapons. Besides, you're not Fury specced, so I'd advise a 2 hander for DPS times, and a sword and board for the instances and the heavy hitting elites.

Go into your Interface options, you get the option to show more bars on the screen, a total of 4 additional bars is available, and when you show them, you can bind shortcut keys to them.

This is very helpful for the buff and debuff icons, since you can keep the more general utility abilities on the other bars so that they don't change every time you change your stance.

No need for addons, even though there are many out there, since the default Blizzard UI is pretty nice in this instance.

As I said, as soon as you show the extra bars on the screen, you can bind the buttons to keyboard or mouse shortcuts. Using the numpad as a shortcut collection is very popular. Remember that sometimes it's better to use shift, ctrl, and alt combinations to use only the most accessible buttons. For example, Shift + (1,2,3,4) are easier to hit than 6,7,8,9

That's basically all the info you need to start up your UI customization and keybinding, try out a few keyboard layouts and decide which one suits you best.

You can add several additional action bars via the built-in interface. Go to Menu > Interface Options > Advanced, and there should be checkboxes for actionbars on bottom right, bottom left, and 2 on the right. I've found those are plenty for most classes.

I gave up scrolling the hotkey bar when I found all the extra action bars. Hope that's what you're looking for.

Edit: I'm slow today.

Thanks for the info, I will go home tonight and check that out. I guess I should have checked that before asking, but I tend to avoid changing many pc game functions because I have a bad habit of ******** them up and then never remembering how they were set up originally. But I figure I will give it a go play around with it a bit and see where that takes me.

Thanks again.

Also, you can shift-up arrow/shift-down arrow to rotate through your main action bar. That's how I have it on all my characters. I've got the bottom left and bottom right action bars shown on screen, which leaves me four more in the action bar. I use 1 as the main, then I can either shift up or shift down from that to access more abilities, then just hit the corresponding keys.

As for your keys, it goes best if you can manage to do both the skills and movement with your left hand, leaving your right hand to work with the mouse.

I myself changed my key settings early on while playing the game, using QWERTYUIOP[] for the standard bar and 1234567890-= for the bottom left extra bar. For movement, I got S-Forward, X-Backward, A&D-Turn, Z&C-Strafe. Since I'm using the Forward and Turn movement keys the most, it's nice to have my 3 fingers next to each other, instead of a cramped holding where 2 fingers are bend to allow the 3rd finger to reach a higher key. I got a lot of action keys close to my left hand.

Ok so i changed up my key bindings to a set-up that I like and am really comfortable with. There is something I would like to know though.

Is there an add-on that would allow me to rearange the view of my ability bars. Right now I have them set on my numberpad keys, which really works for me, the problem right now is the all say num.. Which is killing me now. I mean it works out really well and all it's just I have a hard time remembering which numberpad key is which ability.

So I was thinking, if there was an add-on that allowed me to adjust the view of those ability bars I could re-arrange them to look like the numberpad itself so using the ability would be pretty automatic. I hope that made sense.

Flexbars used to do something like that I think, not 100% though. Also not sure about whether it's been updated.

Might also check out Bartender3.
