Let me count the ways
-mangle give 25% extra bleed effect (not so great for me but I know the rogues are loving it)
-leader of the pack upped to 5% crit.
-imp leader of the pack heals me for 4% of my total health every 6 seconds after a crit.
-when the **** hits the fan you can still pop out and back up heal or battle rez.

Oh feral druids, how I love thee.

When I saw the message heading, I couldn't believe my eyes. Someone who appreciates feral druids? No. Couldn't be. Not when we're supposed to be healing...

But thank you, as a feral druid, I appreciate it. It's nice to be able to do what I want to do with my druid and be thanked rather than scorned.

The only time you should get scorned is if you refuse to heal should the need to arise. To play only certain aspects of your class that you like and refuse to play others is to play your class half assed.

Wouldn't go over too well if I refused to tank, insisting I was a DPS warrior would it?

The only thing you have to understand is:

Healing suit: >6k mana, >200 spirit, >20 MP5 and >+200 heal
Tanking suit: >12k AC, >6k HP and about 3k mana, <100 spirit and no MP5 or +heal.

Assuming I am not the actual Main Tank (which makes popping out to heal some pajama wearer difficult), when I pop out of Feral and toss some heals I can use all my mana pretty darn fast.. and it comes back very very slowly.

Sure.. if I am there to heal, I am suited up for that. If I am there to tank, I will try and save your ***.. but it's sort like asking the Warrior to Bandage you.

But to the OP, yeah. Feral Druid is my new addiction.

Umm, that's a little harsh don't you think, especially considering the point of the thread? If I want to do an instance or a raid and they need a healer, of course I'll heal. It would be silly not to. My point is that most guilds expect druids to respec for healing and to heal in raids all the time and a lot of PuGs for instances seem uncertain about allowing druids to MT. It's nice to see someone who appreciates the new feral druid talents and the way they help groups. That's all.

On the other hand, it's not half assed to refuse to play a role that you don't want to play. Personally, I don't refuse to heal because I would rather have fun in a group than holdout for a MT or DPS role. But there are players who don't want to make that concession and that is fully within their right. Will they have trouble finding a guild? Probably. Will they have problems finding a group sometimes? Sure. Will they come off as a self-centered jerk? Most likely. Are they ignoring useful aspects of the class? I would say yes. But there's nothing in the game that says as a druid, you MUST perform all 4 functions available to you. It's a game, play how you want to play.

What's harsh about it? I wouldn't get away with refusing to tank so I fail to see why druids are special.

And answer me this, if you DPS alone and refuse to heal, what makes you anything more than a rogue wannabe? Which begs the question, if people just wanna melee DPS and not heal, why didn't they just pick rogue in the first place? Nobody expects a rogue to heal.

Bottom line: healing is hard to find, always has been, always will. Thus be ready to if your class is capable of it. If you don't, people see it as wasted potential. Yeah, you can play wearing all greys if you want to, but being turned down for groups shouldn't come off as a surprise in that case.

Just want to say that last night we did Scholomance with a feral druid tank, in mostly green gear and very few blues.

Damned if that wasn't the smoothest Scholomance run I've ever had.

Incidentally, I'm now convinced that mutilate is "not bad at all", having full combo points on bosses in 2 hits is nothing to sneer at.

As I said in my original post one of the reasons I love feral druids is cause "when the **** hits the fan they can pop out and back up heal/battle rez"

Having another battle rez makes baby jesus giggle and clap. MT goes down, feral druid pops out, battle rezzes and heals him to full, then pops back. Thing of beauty.

I'm a fury warrior so I'm also very partial to that extra 5% crit and the fact that it heals me.

So yha druids were shown much love in the new feral tree and that love is transendant among the other players.(at least the melee)

*Grin* Here's something you should see...
A Feral Druid with Imp. Leader of the Pack and 4 arms warriors with sword spec and decent crit gear. That put the warriors to about 40-45% crit range that heals them to boot. That level of DPS will make people flip.
I did that in small instance run with 2 priests... Our priests gave up trying to heal us after 10 minutes, since we were always capped and healing ourselves constantly. Run had no downtime of any sort... priests just hanged back and wanded things... And about halfway into that run warrior whispered and told me he loves me >,<
All this gave me an idea of an arena team: 4 arms 1 feral, or 3 arms 1 feral and 1 resto druid.
I think it'll be a sight to behold.

My bad, arms... I'm not real savvy in warrs, never got mine past 30 ish...

Point and case. That combination is a brutal bloodbath machine...

Also Fury is better sustained dps than arms. Although arms warriors are great for their +4% dmg debuff.
