WoW exceptional players list!Follow

#1 Dec 17 2006 at 9:56 PM Rating: Decent
we had this on our server forum, and i figure since its WoW related and i haven't seen one of these i'd put it up ^^ there are a few rules to this thread, simple but necessary.

1. you can't put yourself
2. don't put just anyone down, example: don't put down a guy that helped you kill a level 8 owl. this thread is for people who truly deserve it(not saying that guy doesn't) but people who go above and beyond what is called for, like, oh say a guy who stayed with you for 3 hours straight helping you get that one item you needed, or a guy who took the time to show you more than just the basics of the game on your first day.
3. this isn't a thread for bad people so no naming off people who don't deserve it and please, no fighting.

Well, if i'm lucky maybe this is sticky worthy but i doubt it. either way have fun ^^

Subsonic on Draenor EU - basically totally helped me out in my first few days, invited me into guild and made me feel at home.

Kunoichi, Touchdown and Amoxicillin. Touchdown and Amoxicillin have put up with my questions ever since I have started and I joined Amoxicillin's guild. Kunoichi gave me my first real money to get started with.

Sounds like the second, although I'm sure the first would also be applicable.

Naru of Holy Carnage (shhh) Eonar server. Naru has been an outstanding help for my existance in WoW. When I started he brought me to all the flightpaths that I needed to start. Showed me the towns, where to go. Also helped me with my level 40 mount.

My WoW life was made extremely fun thanks to him. Including a heartseeking xbow and some other equipment that he gave me early on. It helped me set goals, I wanted to make him proud that I leveled far enough to use what he gave me.

Now that I am level 60 and know the game we have great discussions still on the Hunter class, equipment, weapons, tips and tricks.

Naru, thank you.

both will be fine but if its going to be skill try to make it memorable, idk any big WoW mobs yet so i'll use a FF11 expample, playerA because he managed to take Tiamat down to 2/3's health as a solo RDM, hopefully thats a good example, i don't want this to turn into a who's really good at their job thing you know what i mean?

I didn't realize this was a skill type commendation.

I would like to commendate Dysphoria of the Frostmourne Server.

This level 60 Hunter is the most amazing person I have EVER seen. They have issued out several video's (more coming) called Hunter VS World. In these videos Dysphoria has solo'd several instances. Scholo LBRS DM etc. Along with these there was a version of Dysphoria VS Trash Mobs. How he/she clears these groups of 3+ solo with their pet, freezing traps, feign death, just about every single Hunter skill is in use, and with the execution that DEMANDS recognition.

If you are curious google video search Dysphoria and be amaized the way I am every time I watch. Their choice of music is also pretty exciting.

No to a sticky.

There are many ways to measure aid.

Those who give it do not demand recognition.

Those who do demand it do not deserve it.

As long as a helped individual thanks the helper, that ought to be enough.

Those whose deeds are noteworthy will be noted, in the natural course of events, anyway.

Thats pretty interesting, I used to be able to solo the first part of BRD, after the respec i cannot. I think its because i went marksman. If i respec to beast prolly i could still do it. I find im getting too much aggro and eaten alive or generally my pet dies too quickly. :)

I cant wait to watch it these movies.

this isn't mostly about skill, i just thought it'd be a nice place for appreciative people to give some reccognition to unsung heroes so to speak, people who do stuff for others without the need or want for adoration or appreciation, they just do it to do it cause their nice people. thats the kind of stuff i want in here.

He's had countless characters across several servers, so I'll just call him "Kitty". So, this is "The Legend of Kitty" and I swear it's all true

Kitty leveled a paladin, on a pvp server, without ever losing the carebear. Was he a fool, or was he a hero for finishing every fight, then asking who started it? Kitty is a paladin, 'nuff said.

Kitty then went on to level several characters on a non-pvp server...perma-flagged from lvl 1. "jones'ing" for the slitting of throats, I'd often find him in the bg's, at level x0-x5. Which of course we'd ask, "WTH are you doing??" since everyone KNOWS you can't go into BG's < x5. His reply, "Well, I got mad. No one was bothering to carry the flag, so I ran in, grabbed it. Ran back across the field, killed three opponents, bumped into other flag, re-capped that and planted. We're up 2 now." Group won't move? Kitty picks 'em and carries 'em to a win, kicking and screaming the whole way. That's how Kitty rolls.

Kitty is not now, and will never be a twink. He does this under-level in quest rewards and personally crafted gear. Buying things off the Auction House would make it "too easy".

Being driven to tears of boredom without the world pvp, Kitty convinced skittish me to come to a pvp server. I vowed I would NOT go whining to Kitty every time I got ganked. And I did well, up until a shaman and a warlock refused to leave me alone in Shimmering Flats. Kitty (in rogue form this time), flew out and took care of that little problem...and then took care of it again, and a third time, and then chased them through 1000 needles, and THEN asked me, "Are you satisfied now?" I was. =) Kitty was 3 levels below the shaman and 1 below the warlock.

It was rare I had anything of value for Kitty, so the few times I could offer, I did so with enthusiasm. Kitty has paid back even the most trivial of loans, much to my frustration. The only time he'll accept help is when I said, "If you try to repay me, you'll hurt my feelings and I'll cry. You don't want that DO YOU!?"

Kitty has moved on to a server (high pop. pvp) where there is greater opportunity to use his skills. I cannot follow this time as I am not at that level of play, I know I would be a liability. I'm of course sad to see him go, he was an absolute delight to watch. I have promised that I'll continue to cheer on, and watch for him. He's going for druid this incarnation.

I look forward to seeing you soar Kitty. It was a pleasure to game with you.

Everyone from my old guild, to be honest.

They made the game something special. You would log on just to chat and have fun. We would do runs to lowbies instances to help some random lowbie who asked for our assistance.

We raided Crossroads when several of us were below level 30. We raided The Sepulcher when our most advanced member was a level 50+ Paladin. We did mass-dances in Ironforge, hunts in Ashenvale and contests in Goldshire.

Those were the good days. Good days indeed.

You guys made the game a fun and exciting experience. I wish we could've stuck together a bit longer.

Good times.

One person comes to mind on my realm, Phunbaba. Some people may know him as the author of the guide book for all of the 40 man instances in the brady games guide. But he is also just a nice person who everyone knows. His guild just broke up and he has maintained an awesome attitude. Just a superb guy who is always open for some jokes.

Ravash, a lvl 60 horde war, on Anetheron, I had been playing about 3 days as of last night and he saw me on my first blimp ride. He just randomly started giving me some stuff like shirts and bags and other useful items, even some gold, prolly at least 20g worth of stuff altogether. Also, gave me some advice and big welcome to the game. I never usually as for help, so to recieve all that as a random act of kindness was really cool. I've been playing FFXI for 3 years and just was checking WoW out, but if half the population is as nice as this guy, I'll be around for a while. Hope to pay it forward one day once I can get some levels under my belt.
