i just recently got my first alliance charecter to 60 and when i went to join Battleground AB/AV/WSG the wait time was 30min/49min/19min... is this commen? my 60 hunter takes 9min AB, 14min AV, 3min WSG.. also does server play a role in wait time?

Your hunter is horde. Horde have much much shorter que times than alliance. It's because there is no server with more horde than alliance :/

Yep, unfortunately, Alliance get screwed by BG queues. I have 10 minute WSGs, 12-15 min ABs, and 30-50 min AV queues. My friend has a Horde character in the battlegroup, and he has two second queues.

It didn't used to be like this. My server is fairly balanced with Alliance and Horde, but the PvE and RP servers in my battlegroup are horribly unbalanced. When I do the Arena, 80% of my battles are against fellow Alliance.

Deathtaru and Mokaro, what battlegroups are you in? I'll be sure to avoid them when I transfer my dwarf at 60 :)

No, seriously, I want to know.

I belive the battlegroup does matter, but for most, allies have waiting time, while horde does not.

My battlegroup Cyclone(EU) has instant BGs for horde(Yay me), and about 15-20 mins for ab and wsg, and a abit more for AV on allie side.

I am afraid you just have to wait :(

Right now BGs are the flavor of the week. With rank 12/13/14 gear suddenly available to less-than-hardcore players, a ton of Alliance who were almost strictly PvE before are suddenly crawling out of the woodwork and queueing up. As a result, the imbalance in the population (there have always been and will always be more Alliance than Horde OVERALL when you count ALL the servers including all rulesets) shows and you end up w/ queues.

Waiting 15 minutes for an AV sucks - but it's better than the old days where waiting an hour was normal.

Overall, there are far more alliance players, than horde players. So overall, alliance gets longer queues.

Back when it used to be server only, there were exceptions. The server I started on (EU Bloodscalp) had a nice 1:1 ratio, so queues were very short for both sides. Then the server overpopulated, and free migrations opened, first to EU Twisting Nether, and when the server stayed overpopulated, another was created to EU Trollbane.

A lot of Horde decided to pick up their roots and move to Twisting Nether (from various servers), while the Alliance was less inclined to move. The result was like a 1:4 ratio (A:H), so it was one of the few servers where alliance had instance queues and horde was doing the waiting.

Later on, when Trollbane opened up, the alliance finally decided to move, resulting in a ratio on Trollbane highly favoring the alliance. On Trollbane, the exact opposite of Twisting Nether occured.

The crossed battlegrounds evened everything out. They made it so that the total alliance:horde ratio for all groups was about the same. The result is more alliance than horde on every battlegroup groups, so all alliance now got queues (though for some, not as drastically as before), and all horde get to join near instantly.

For some reason, the ratio in our group adjusted after applying the group system, as queue times became shorter and shorter.

Jordster, how are the BG ques in YOUR battlegroup for alliance?

Well for the most part, you can say alliance ques are always greater than horde. However, some battlegroups are worse than others. Some groups have batches of new servers... and the new servers tend to be more evenly split, or even favoring horde in some cases. So, while one group will have 45 min alliance ques, another one will only have 15.

I usually wait 1-2 minutes at the most to enter a BG. More often than not, I wait only 10-20 seconds.

Pretty new to the whole bg thing myself. It's been a week now since I started up in my first bg, and I'm hoping this last week's que times have been a little strange.

On Uther/Alliance . . .

AV = 1hr 10min avg. | 50min low | 1hr 45min high
AB = 35min avg. | 25min low | 55min high

Haven't tried WSG yet, as I figured I'd best get used to pvp a bit first and do less harm with my inexperience in larger groups.

Now I do my best to do my homework, so I've looked over threads here and on the WoW site. I've seen some upset about their times, but I've not seen worse than my own yet. :x

I'm hoping it's a hardware problem on Bliz's end honestly. Given all the buzz about honor nerfs, lag, que times, etc. I figure if I can stand grinding the honor now it'll just get better as time passes.

wow, glad i rolled horde now. I generally wait 15 seconds max on ab or wsg and about 25 on av, even when pvping with my guildies doesn't take any longer.

Might possibly be the battlegroup i suppose as well as your faction.

Wow, What server are you guys on? I'm Alliance and my queue times are AV:2-7 minutes, WSG:3-7 minutes, AB:2-5 minutes.

I have to say, as Alliance, I guess I'm damned lucky. My AV queues are 3-10 mins (usually around 5), AB is instant (Never more than 30 secs) and WSG is never more than 3 mins (usually like 1-1.5)

This is the stormstrike group. Daddy likes.

Wow, on Thrall the AV que times are around 5 minutes for alliance and last night while I was getting my AB tokens I didn't have a wait time. It was almost instant. I don't do wsg so can't tell ya.
