Okay, so I like playing with characters that can pretty much take care of themselves, even if I party with people I like to be able to take a lot of stuff and say "I can do that by myself" (the mentality that the guy in the wheelchair in Scary Movie 2 had).

So what would be the best class for solo? I solo a lot with my hunter, is there a better class for that though?

Pet=Tank
Life Tap= Mana
Healthstones= Health

- You can't lose XD

Pallys are also not a bad class for soloing even though you might find them slow to level.

Rogues are incredibly good soloers cuz u get pots and bandages and u dont have to worry about energy cuz in a couple seconds it'll regen. Also mages are nice soloers because they can make their own food and lvl incredibly fast with AoE

Here how I see it...

Warlocks - Demonologists (is what i spec in and I can summon my pets in .5 to 1 second fast with 90% mana reduction)

Hunters + pets w/ range attacks

Both classes can take up to 2-5 levels higher then them or take on 2-3 at the same time that are equal to or a lvl higher then them

Priest (Shadow Spec'ed)

All classes can solo easily some go faster then others, and others get pentalized if they attack things higher then them.

Rogues are good because you can evade anything that you don't want to fight with stealth. You always have a way out of a fight once you get Vanish

The thing is that rogues can't always take down a mob 2-3 levels higher than him because it's meleeing in leather armor. For the same reason, rogues can't really fight 2+ mobs at the same level effectively unless you Sap one.

Honestly, go with a lock or a hunter. Use their pets as tanks/distraction and just kill from a safe distance.

Mage AOE grinding seems to be pretty fast from what I have seen, but I would have to say Rogues are faster then what they are getting credit for. I take 2-3 level 57-60 mobs all the time with my rogue. If they are humanoid you got sap. If not you got Blade Fury and Evasion(depends on spec) doing that you have 2 dead mobs, and almost full health for the third. Sure we cant use plate or mail, but we have great evasion and take out mobs fast so we will not get hit as much as other melee classes. Dont forget about stealth, I start with a cheapshot then to back stab and the mob is at 50%. Im not saying we are the fastest, it is more based on skill and gear in my opinion then class.

hunter, its THE soloing and farming class.

ask any goldfarmer and you see what I mean

Hunters = kick @ss soloers a good lv 30 hunter can almost solo VC while most other classes it takes about a a lv 40 before they can solo it

that said the best farmers is the mage with there AoE spells they can hit many many mobs at once and played correctly only get hit (in worst case scenerio) once maby twice

now the rogues, rogues flat out kick *** BUT they CAN NOT take that many mobs on at once but to make up for that (specd correctly and correctly played)u can kill stuff so fast it makes up for it

now the warlock ok i have to admit im in LOVE with my lock ok locks can take 2-5 mobs on at once by using there pet plus mana drain life tap and drain played correctly BOOM your leveling quicker then a rabit on hot cement

to the druid id have to admit this is one of the worst soloing class BUT the cat forms DPS can almost keep up with my rogue (same lv)and the ability to heal then tank then rogue then spell cast is realy nice

Warriors ok im not an expert as i HaTE playing them not much i can say they have a high def which means more mobs (im not putting any more cuz ive not used
them enuf to be fair)

Pallys (same as warrior) except they can heal well

priests i honostly dont play as much on one so idk

shamens i dont know for this reason ALLIANCE FTW

ok i think thats all of them i hoped it helped

Based on my experience, obviously Hunters are the best solo class hence the gold farmers and you can take down things quickly too. Warlocks would have to come second in my book because you have Demonlogy and Affliction. Dot up and drain and fear adds, and you can fear, dot and drain elites. Can also take care of mobs of 2-4, 5 may be a tad difficult...So they are great at soloing. So yes..both Hunters and Warlocks are the best solo class.

Rogue and Hunters are the best IMO . Hunter get feign death and that will definitely save you lotsa repair fee when you reach 60.

Rogue has vanish , can pick lockbox , and can solo certain instance for specific loots.

Unless your talking about resto druid this isn't true at all. Feral specc. druids are among the fastest leveling classes in the game, and they can take 3+ mobs easily. Balance isn't half as fast, but they can still take down multible mobs with ease.

Seriously though hunters and locks rock in solo-ing. I think the lock has a slight edge since he can heal himself.

This is a personal preference issue. Once I've learned to play the class I find it easier to solo.

My favorites are:
Druid
Rouge
Mage
