I miss you old buddy, you were my only friend in the Horde. I loved you, but I went Alliance and never went back. Maybe one day, (Lol the expansion...)I'll make a new Horde,(Err, Blood Elf) And love you once again... Everybody share your love for your favourite part of Horde land. Tell me. :]

Ummmm... there's some hot Tauren chicks running around there... That's the best thing I can think of that exists there. The Barrens sucks.

Thats too funny, god barrens chat is terrible.
Why is it so bad in EVERY single server?

Absolutely the most fun place to quest for hordies though.

I think the best Horde area (one I have had the most fun in) is WPL. My friends and I grind there all the time and have loads of fun attacking the little Alliance outpost and chasing around Alliance and then eventually pissing off enough 60s to get chased by 7-8 of them. Ahhhh, good times, good times.

Being only level 35, I have yet to experience the whole world but I do like the Barrens. It is so wide and open so you can see what critters you have to deal with from far off. There are few places where unseen enemies can attack you from. You can climb the mountains and get wonderful views. I always look forward to getting my characters into the Barrens and its quests. I'm sure I'll eventually find a zone that I can call my favorite but I think Durotar and the Barrens will always feel like 'home' to me.

The more open an area is, the more comfortable I feel there. I really don't like questing/leveling in areas with tons of trees though they do usually look quite pretty. My NE almost died yesterday coming out of the Mushroom cave in Darkshore when we got jumped by three nagas and no matter how I moved my camera, there were tree branches or waterfall blocking my view of what was going on. I dislike fighting in tunnels or buildings for the same reasons - camera issues and line-of-sight issues.

I see people saying this kind of thing all the time but I seldom see any chat while I'm in the Barrens. I see questions about where to find something/someone and people looking to group up but almost no 'chat' at all. I think the only time I have seen someone acting like an idiot in chat in the Barrens is when some ?? Alliance gets spotted in the area and thinks everyone should rush to drive them out even though this is a PVE server and the only flagged Alliance around are either raiding Crossroads or playing 'bait' for getting lowbies to flag. Still, I'd say in all of my 4 Horde characters' leveling up experiences in the Barrens, I've only seen about 4-5 instances of really annoying chat behavior.

Now if people made remarks about the Dun Morogh chat or the Elwynn Forest chat, THEN I'd understand since those two regions are the only ones where I have consistently seen people calling each other stupid names and threatening to report each other for stuff and generally acting like little kids. I couldn't wait to leave those zones.

I'm on Burning Legion EU and I've never witnessed any kind of asshattery in Barrens chat. It's actually pretty dead 99% of the time. The only thing I hoped to survive was the boredom of being there, but once you're out of the lvl 10-16 range things get better. XD

Andorhal US on the other hand... don't even talk to me about Goldshire/Elwynn Forest chat.

I'm not much for the barrens, because I as well have seen to many idiotic chat's there that make you want to Jump off the highest mountain there. This is on Maelstorm, so thats another server where the Barrens chat is typically brain cell damaging.

As for my favorite place right now is 1k Needles, just because the Flats are great for my level (32) and loot sells for good price at merchants. Oh and there are alot of quests to be done there.

I started in Night Elf land because I liked the forests. I still think that Darkshore is beautiful. But I put up with the desolation of the Horde areas because I like to own. Like some people say, the horde quests and scenery aren't as appealing as the Alliance, but Horde is better.

Of course Barrens isn't my FAVOURITE place, but it's still my favourtie HORDE place. I'm currently Alliance and love Tanaris.

Barrens chat is something else. Maybe that's the growing pains area for the Horde, but who knows?

I liked the zone, the quests were good. But the chatter! It was enough to make me close the chat box while I was in the barrens.

All NE areas suck to me. Darksshore, Ashenvale, Tedra-whatever, and Felwood mainly. But they all suck. If winterspring can be considered a NE area then that is the only one that agrees with me.

Also barrens will be the biggest chat area anyway it's the area where you can go from lvl 10 to 30 all in the same area. At least from a grinding point of view. With WC,RFK, and RFD people will all ways be going through there at all levels. If your on a pvp server that's a long time before you have to worry about getting ganked.

God..barrens chat used to be so awesome...Entertaining while leveling..LFG killed it :(
#15 Nov 19 2006 at 2:56 AM Rating: Decent
Meh, the Barrens are horribly boring for my Horde characters. My characters skip barrens as far as possible, and instead go to Ashenvale, Silverpine, and so on to Hillsbrad and so on. If I can circumvent the Barrens, I will.

Not sure why, but I just don't like it there. Too... Barren. Arid. Boring.
Ashenvale is one of my favourite areas in the game. Contested, beautiful, varied, and decent quests. For both factions.

My favorite horde area, is Silverpine forest. I enjoy the forest environment, and how its a closed area, i feel its easier to be in.

While i was lvl 11-23 the whole time i was there, there was only one thing i ever hated. The son of arugal ::twitch:: bah!

LoL

When I was in my low 20s I thought I'd run my Troll Warrior over to Silverpine to do the quests and raise my UC reputation. I didn't think there was anything that could hurt me there at my level so when Son of Arugal attacked me along with one of those moonrage things I realized pretty darn quick that I was in trouble so I took off running (while getting repeatedly stunned) for Sepulcher and somehow managed to survive though I think I have my Troll regen to thank for it since that curse was doing some major damage and I swear I couldn't see any green left on my HP bar.

I did make sure to go back and seek out that Son of Arugal after I turned 30 and smacked him good!

Well Barrens can get kinda boring.
However at least there you can sit down without a mob or enemy player attacking you... Not like in Stranglethorn or Dustwallow Marsh.

ARE YOU ALL IDIOTS BARRENS CHAT IS THE BEST! the only real way to get it started up is to write in caps Allakhazam that seems to get some people cursing at you then other people join in and then they turn on each other then you level, go to stonetalon and let them revel in their own idiocy

'sides, i like watching burning giraffes charging across the plains...

and who cares about chat? i nearly never actually follow it, unless i'm resting, or having a smoke break.
