In an attempt to consolidate the forums I would like to throw a helping hand and answer ANY question about WoW or the upcoming expansion here.

We have been seeing a LOT of new players asking questions, so post those questions here and I'll do my best to answer them! If I can't, I'm sure someone else can Smiley: smile

Hey, maybe your question has already been asked and answered here, so take a gander, post a question and enjoy your stay!

Also, please feel free to check out Mike's FAQ which can be found here:

What do I do webjunky? What do I do?!

Well, what I mean is that you can ask anything about playing the game.

But in your case, Linus, I'd run. Far, far away.

Well, if you go into any major city, you can always ask a GUARD for directions. This will bring you to a trainer to learn First Aid starting at level 1. When you can no longer advance your skill with these trainers, they will generally tell you where to go next. Incidently, you can use this site to search where all of the First Aid trainers are:

Depends on class.

Rogues and Hunters can gain AP through Agi. (Rogues: 1 Agi = 1 AP, Hunters: 1 Agi = 2 RAP)

1 Strength:

* Increases damage blocked with shields
* +2 AP for warriors / druids / shamans / paladins
* +1 AP for rogues / hunters (melee, not ranged)

First of all, nice thinking. Maybe we will never get another post saying "HOW DO I SWIM IN THIS GAME UNDERWATER*(or something along the lines of that)

Ignoring the fact I don't have a computer that can run WoW *yet* (I am frequently hijacking my friend's computer), I'd like to ask a question.

I've always been an extremely slow leveler. It takes me weeks to do what it takes others....less than weeks.....anyways, I think I spend too much time traveling, in the AH (I always feel safer with good, up to level date gear, it's a problem for me), etc.

I want to make a new character, and I want to level as fast as possible. I'd like to know, is it easy to get by using only quest rewards? Is the AH even neccesary until later on, and for certain things? I'd like to travel as little as possible, and only use quest rewards.

This may sound like a stupid question (hey, this might even be what most people do), but it isn't much harder, is it? I would really like to level faster.

Thanks,
Nazgul

Personally, I'm like you, Nazgul. I take my time, spend time looking around an enjoying the game. I've gotten burnt out too many times by grinding as fast as I could to really care how fast I level anymore.

The fastest way to level is just to grind and take quests the promote grinding, as opposed to traveling quests. For some classes, it's pretty easy to get by with whatever you can pick up for gear; other have a more difficult time. Rogue especially is not very dependant on gear, as most of our damage comes from abilities themselves until much higher levels.

Classes that use mana, though, will find it easier to level with more Int gear.

Some of the best items in the game are from quest rewards. I am a firm beleiver that a toon can successfully reach the level cap without ever touching the AH.

Not only are there quest rewards and random world drops, but you could also run an instance a couple of times every few levels. You get great experience, learn group dynamics and get some great gear for your level.

Instance gear > AH gear

When it comes to chatting.....
I'm in the Looking for Group channel, and can see all the posts, but when I use my chat to 'say' Looking for whatever, I don't get any responses and I'm not sure if my message is getting out there?

'Rolling' refers to the act of rolling a dice (throw a dice and it'll land on random set of eyes), meaning you roll a character (you throw the dice and whatever it lands on, you get it). For instance: I rolled the dice and it landed on a male Night Elf Priest.

Re-rolling means to do it over. For instance: I rolled a male Night Elf Priest, but he looks like crap so I'm re-rolling a female Human Priest.

That at least how I've picked it up. Might be absolutely false though.

'PUG' stands for Pick-Up Group, meaning you form a group by picking up random strangers and not people from your guild or whatever. PUGs make things harder because everyone has their own strategy and no one has done it together before so no one knows how the other party members do things.

And the Sword of a Thousand Truths appears to have been implemented in the Burning Crusade, according to a screenshot posted earlier. But you already knew that, ya lazy *******.

Ok.

I know the /played command tells me the time played on my character.
Is there a command to tell me the character creation date (like /charinfo in EQ)?

And if so, what is it?

This is, unfortunately, continuing my earlier question. So what I'm getting here is that rogues are the least gear dependant class? Please correct me if I'm wrong, but if so, I think I might start playing a rogue.

Just not undead, of course.

<<<in my old man voice>>>

Well sonny back in my day Rolling a character meant just that. You would roll the dice for Str, Int, Wis, Agi... Dependent on what the dice gave you you'd select the character to play. The term comes from the old Dungeons and Dragons paper game so it dates to the 1970's or pre PC's being in every house.

Not actually, Rogues benifit from the same specs as Hunters and will fight over "of the Monkey" gear or Stamina/Agility spec'd gear.

And un-dead rogues have some advantages. Cannibal is one of them.
