* Instituted an anti-exploit measure on certain encounters (almost entirely raid bosses). These encounters will prevent people from zoning into the instance while that encounter is engaged. If you attempt to zone into the instance while that encounter is engaged, you will be resurrected at the outside entrance. We will be making adjustments to the entrances to Molten Core and Blackwing Lair to accommodate this change. Combat resurrections, soulstones, reincarnate, etc. will still work fine. This is primarily to combat graveyard rushing in instances.

* The Gordok Inner Door Key will now properly be destroyed if you are ever outside the instance and alive.

Those 2 got me thinking, are there any "keys" in raids that might be destroyed if you're outside and alive? If so, you better make SURE there is no fighting going on when you corpse run back and have the key.

I wonder if fishing stonescale eels will still be profitable after this. I'm somehow afraid prices might drop significantly.

Prices will drop a little, not much though.
People still need that eel (more for tier 3?), and most people still hate fishing.

I laughed.

Now they really have become gods...

At least fear is being fixed.

Fear needed fixing. It was already way too reliable. Between only the pvp trinket and WOTF and the diminishing return the opponent could get Feared a third time and run the risk of not being able to control their character's movement for 5 seconds if damage didn't happen to break it as it eratically moves out of range of any spells the Warlock might attempt to cast, at superhuman speed.

Quote:
* Fear: The calculations to determine if Fear effects should break due to receiving damage have been changed. The old calculation used the base damage of the ability. The new calculation uses the final amount of damage dealt, after all modifiers. In addition, the chance for a damage over time spell to break Fear is now significantly lower. Note that Fear continues to be roughly three times as likely to break on player targets as on non-player targets. In addition, Intimidating Shout now follows that player versus non-player distinction, while previously it did not.

It seems to me that fear has been enhanced a little. Easier to break with single spells (like Shadowbolt), but harder to break with DoTs. Since we all know what 'locks are best at spell-wise, I see this as a benefit.

A lot of nice things in the patch!
Love the flightpath and keyring parts.

But that everything a shaman does now costs less mana and do more dam is just a joke. Now I hate them even more. How is that possible?

Exactly! This is going to hurt so much.

Considering they're not done messing with the game, no one has had an opportunity to log in and download the patch yet. Blizzard doesn't host mirror sites so users have to upload it themselves, which means someone has to log in, download the patch via the downloader and then upload it to a server so that others can download it from there.

I wouldn't expect a mirror site to pop up until at least the maintenance is done.

EU patch is downloadable (via the normal Blizzard process) since about 20 minutes back, at 40% here. There's likely to be mirrors up fairly soon.

w00t! This was horrible, and I'm glad it's fixed.

According to quite a few people from the US boards it still acts exactly the same, booting you back to the character list but this time without the dialog box "A character with that name already exists."

Great job ******** us over on wording blizz.

Good to know. Tried logging on at around 11:50, but the authentication server was still acting weird.

i wouldn't be so sure, its currently ******** me over. got to 43% of downloading update and disconnected, wouldn't resume, now even the client fails to connect to the server. Rest of the net is working fine, all the firewalls are disabled, bloody thing is just having a sulk.

Oh and because they updated the authorisation procedures the forums are down so i can't even report it on the tech forums.

Edit: now its appearing to work again with no other intervention other than writing this post.......the client is spying on my alla posts!

* In an effort to keep their armies better outfitted the Horde and Alliance have both taken it upon themselves to update their available rewards.
- An updated set of armor rewards have been added to vendors for Honor ranks 7, 8, and 10.
- The armor rewards for Honor ranks 12 and 13 have been increased in level and stat point allocation.
- New rank 14 weapons have been added! In order to give casters the same diversity of selection that melee currently enjoy we have added new caster items that are available to be purchased by Grand Marshals and High Warlords.
7-10 armor doesn't auto upgrade (and isn't buyable if are are now lower than that rank), 12-13 does auto update, 14 weapons do not (and are not buyable if you are now lower than that rank...slap in the face to all the previous HWLs and GMs)

Quote:
* A new LEGENDARY item quest has been added! Casters rejoice (and druids too)!
Just think, maybe in another year an a half, we just *may* see a legendary ranged item ;)

Quote:
* Blood of the Black Dragon Champion is now a multi-drop quest item. Everyone on their respective faction's quest will be able to loot the blood.
A nice change for those trying to finish their Ony keys. No more ninjaing or having the chance (after the long-*** horde quest) of having to do yet another UBRS run to finish it.

Quote:
* Release timers have been be removed from instances. This includes dungeons, battlegrounds, and raid instances.
Very nice. Always sucks when the ML dies 2 mins into a 9min fight. Not to mention the endless "30sec to release, REZ ME!!!" calls just after a big boss fight.

Quote:
* We have re-evaluated the class specific quest rewards for both Zul'Gurub and Ahn'Qiraj Ruins. To bring them more in line with the effort required to attain them we have upgraded the superior items to epic quality.
I like the changes (Hunter stuff comprable or better than Tier1 pieces), but it's not particularly difficult to get them in the first place, especially since...
Quote:
- Class specific armor quests given by the Zandalarian trolls of Yojamba Isle no longer require Bijous or coins for completion. Armor quests now only require a Primal Hakkari piece and appropriate faction with Zandalar.
...makes it even easier to get the pieces done now. Not complaining, just commenting.

Quote:
- After careful consideration we have decided to add an additional loot table to the High Priests of Zul'Gurub. Players should now see two items in addition to the tokens when slaying these bosses.
A decent change, with 6 bosses easily going down and the 7th dropping after some work, our ZG runs should be a bit more profitable. Also upping the chances of the rare and super-rare epics is good (indirect increase, with 2 items dropping instead of one, there are 2 checks done for those pieces, before anyone goes and says "There's nothing about increasing drop rates!").

And, lastly, my personal favorite...
Quote:
* Parties and Raids now can mark targets for their party/raid in the gamefield. A party leader or raid leader/assistant can right-click the portrait of their target to select a symbol to associate with that target. All players in the party/raid will see the selected symbol over the head of the target as well as on the portrait of that target.

This will make it a hell of a lot easier in calling raid targets. Not having to rely on a single (or jumping) Hunter's mark, and being able to apply multiple HMs without yelling and screaming is a great great thing.

The UIs (that I use at least) made it through pretty solidly too, which is always a plus. Just gotta update a couple more (and will update most just to have it done) and there'll be no errors at all (were no critical, game crashing, issue causing errors at all either, just a few popups that I could close np.)

I reckon this will only cause a slight drop in prices since this will benefit mainly higher level characters. The the beasts in these areas are usually 40+ so you won't get loads of low level characters farming them constantly and players who can survive these can generate the same sort of cash in other areas quite easily. Plus fishing is deadly boring anyway.
