Oh god, the beginner areas and Orgrimmar are going to suck on Shadow Council tonight ("OMGZ, Y IZ MY SERVER DOWN, BLIZZ! U SUXX0R!"). Assuming it or any of the unlisted servers is functioning. The WoW site is still barfing its guts out every time I try to visit, which is usually a sign of massive problems.

For a change, I'm glad I haven't finished Harry Potter yet. Now I've got something to distract me from withdrawal symptoms! :)

I love it how the servers with issues have had them ever since release.

I've had to put up with one of them.

No, you haven't. You can click the "Change Realm" button to pick a different server.

Now there is a valid complaint.

Sea 1.5 hours on the toilet man you might want to go to the Dr. and have them look around in there. haha So does anyone know if any of the servers are back up?
#164 Jul 26 2005 at 3:55 PM Rating: Decent
I was back up for like an hour then they did a 8 min count down to server reset and they have not come back up yet.

I did roll a lowbie on a server (name escapes me) then it went down for restart about 30mins ago. Does anyone have any actual info on whats going on? did they deside to keep everyone in the same boat and keed all servers down for 24hrs? (Im not saying they did, dont jump to conclusions, im just asking)

Just wanted to give a heads up about Skywall.

The realm came up and was OMG crowded with a lot of ******** people. We got a server announcement that to fix a problem with an instance - god only knows which - they had to do an restart in 15 minutes (their terms: "a simple off/on").

The restart was about 20 minutes ago, and still no access.

But at least I got my heavy mageweave bandages done! lol

As far as downtime is concerned, I don't really mind it because it's the nature of the beast when it comes to MMO. But like Kalgomath wrote, I hate it when the server comes back up and everyone and their brother from other realms creates lowbies just to be able to play and ***** in game about their realm being down. It hoses everything up for the server regulars.
#167 Jul 26 2005 at 3:59 PM Rating: Good
I suspect the flood of everyone creating alts on the servers that are up are causing the servers to crash and having issues resulting in restarts.

The next 12 or so hours are just going to be a mess, and you can either deal with it the best you can, or do something else for the night.

But let's try to keep the foaming at the mouth to a minimum please? We can't do anything about your server and I think we're all getting tired of hearing about it.
#168 Jul 26 2005 at 4:00 PM Rating: Decent
$15 every month isn't a bad price, unless you consider the costs that adds up to over a year or two. Either way, in monthly installments it doesn't hurt as bad.

24 hours of downtime is acceptable because it's being used to improve things. If the server went down for a reason unknown to the public, we'd all have a right to be angry.

I didn't understand what was meant by ".. will be given an additional twenty-four hours because of the down time." Does that mean they are giving us an extra day before they bill us again? Or is it completely simple and I'm just missing the point?

Long live Doomhammer.

Look on the brightside, the long maintence is a good sign about BG repairs.

check this BS, my server nethrezim was just like everyone else, down for the extra 2 hours. THen when it finally comes back, 5 minutes into it we get a message for a quick server reboot to fix "instance issues. This will be quick down/up. Sorry for the inconvenience" ... its been almost an hour... w... t... F!!!

If I did not know better, I would say you work for Blizzard. Hey it is in our nature to complain about a service we pay for and is not available when it was supposed to be. Yes, we will all live through this experence. But we don't have to like it.
#172 Jul 26 2005 at 4:11 PM Rating: Decent
Maybe part of the problem, like with their website, is that they are constantly hammered over and over and over by everyone, their brother, their brothers GF, her ex BF and his little brother, ect, ect, ect on and on and on, and infinity. bla. Who ever said this is the nature of the MMO beast is correct. Bliz may not be tops when it comes to customer support or tech issues, but anyone else remember the first 1-2 months of EQ? Or am i just really dating myself?

Lenonis Sage: no one forces you to read it. if you don't like reading complaints go do something else for the rest of the night.

Ah yes, a variation of the "you are a blizz fanboi!!11!!oneone!" response.

I'm not sure which server you are on, but my server is one of the 24 hour ones, and I'm get a 24 hour credit, so this maintainence is costing me zip, nada, zero, nothing. I can't really complain about that, can I?

As for other servers...well, if the issues keep happening they will give everyone else a free day too. They have done that in the past and there has been no sign they will break precident in that regard.

I, once again, feel the need to ask...Did you READ the Terms of Service?

You can make posts to complain, you have that right. I also have the right to make posts suggesting that your attitude lacks a little perspective.

But anyway, I give up. The work day is over anyway. I hope everyone can find something else to do with their evening that is perhaps a little more productive.
