Kalimdor was crashing on Llane yesterday. Guess our problems are starting, too.

Yea I still can not get in either. It is to be expected. If things were completed on time I would probably die from shock.

I'm not sure who said this but it rings true:

"Foolproof systems do not take into account the ingenuity of fools."

Changed the color cause it was damn annoying (sorry)

Are the realms still down?

Why aren't the realms up that aren't on the 24-hour list?

That aren't the business!

Ya know, amazingly, I haven't been having any problems over on Shadowsong...perhaps I'm just lucky?

Down Time = Clean house, do the wash, dust every inch of my house and wash the dishes AND vacuum and sweep and cook...on my day off of work....Am I done being punished yet?

I haver to agree with most of the posters here. I am one of the lucky ones being my main server is not on the list, but this 24/hr extented maintance is a bit much.

Also the other servers still not being up. We go throw this ounce a week it seems. this weekly maintiace in my opion is Bull#%@$. The should be testing all there patchs first and then maybe ounce a month take down the servers to apply the proven patches they been doing.

But that is just my two cents.

And i am the same as everyone the website won't load and the server select screen still shows no servers

Come on Blzrd. Get it togher!!!

Did a tracert, and pings timed at 200ms for last hour. No response from either blizzard.com, or from worldofwarcraft.com. DNS resolution still works for em, but packets are DOA at edge router between ATT and blizzards routers.

My sneaking suspicion is that their entire network is down...perhaps they wanted to give everyone a 24 hour break?

BTW Blizz, you can hot swap servers with Cisco technology, with all the money you get from subscriptions don't you think you could invest in some technology resources to spare us this server takedown every week?

This is purely speculation, but I think a lot of the lag and crashing we have been experiencing lately on most of the realms are volume-induced. I don't really see how they could fix that besides backin up all the account information and getting better servers. For all I know, this could be what they are doing, in which case, I'm a happy camper.

Though I have not experienced bad lag issues on Alleria besides the occasional latency spike. And Alleria did crash the other night, which was annoying, but these things happen to every server of any kind once in a while.

Why in the hell does everyone tolerate the total blackout for 6 hours to begin with? Why is the maintenance not staggerred? If maint takes 6 hours, why not do 1/3 Mon, 1/3 Tue, 1/3 Wed. Then when the ludicrous 24h outage is required *cough Bull$#!+ cough* we're not twiddling appendages. With only 2 days to interact with in a $15 a month investment, 24h (or approximately 1/8 of my time that is able to be invested) is unacceptable. 1/30th of the cost is really P!$$ when it comes to the time lost.

Maybe we should all send Blizzard a bill for the 24h a month that we are losing due to TOTAL BLACKOUTS in service.

Does anyone know if we actually agreed to this in the service agreement?

Oh well, with time on my hands, I guess I can scrutinize the damn thing.

Its after 11:00 actually is 1213 here and we are not listed on the 24hour server and it is STILL down.. anyone else have that problem?

Well folks I don't know if this info will help, but here goes. I did a tracert to worldofwarcraft.com and on the 14th DNS server or 14th hop the packet drops and times out (granted this is from my location in Tampa, Florida). The entire tracert is on the AT&T Worldnet, which Blizzard hosts on, and it seems to be an issue with their servers relaying the signal no Blizzard's. Blizzard is the victim in this. I use to be an MIS manager for a company that depended on internet sales and marketing. Hopefully AT&T will fix their problem soon, but I have dealt with them before and they are slow. The sad thing is you can't even get to the website http://www.worldofwarcraft.com.
I keep getting the error "Can't Find Server". That was what prompted me to do a tracert.

Game players storm Blizzard Headquarters

Tuesday, July 26, 2005: Posted: 2:50 p.m. EDT (18:50 GMT)

IRVINE, CA (CNN) -- A throng of irate game players stormed the offices of Blizzard Entertainment, destroying hundreds of servers and damaging hundreds of thousands of dollars of computer equipment.

According to eye witnesses, dozens of people entered the Blizzard Entertainment (www.blizzard.co.uk) offices in Irvine, CA, brandishing baseball bats and other blunt instruments. A few minutes later, loud noises and screams were heard, as terrified employees fled the building.

"They're destroying all the equipment!" one employee said. "They're mad because the servers aren't up yet and they can't get their game fix!"

We'll continue to follow this story and bring you more coverage as events unfold...

The web site's not actually down, but it's not having a good day. If you keep refreshing, it'll eventually come up, but you may lose it again in the middle of loading the page. *sigh*

So it's AT&T who's not with the business?

I don't believe it's professional to allow such things to occur when you're making such a large amount of money.

Some are up now! Not mine of course, but some!

Yeah, the site isn't totally down. It's overloaded. I can get to forums.worldofwarcraft.com just fine, however the login server is down. No updates on the Realm Status forum either, which isn't surprising.

Sounds like someone needs to pop a few pills and calm down hmm? Would you rather they do not maintenance and leave the realms as buggy as they've been of late with the Eastern Kingdoms crashing among other things? I'd be more upset about a staggered downtime than getting it out of the way in one day. We'll know when the realms start popping back up if the extended downtime increases stability but until then staring at your clock and hammering at the login screen will just **** you off more.

LOL Kristi!

I doubt there would be any employees there even if angry gamers did storm the headquarters. I think they just use the weekly maintenance downtime as an excuse to sleep in on Tuesdays. An today all the employees are sipping mint juleps on their back porches.
