This might be a stupid question. I just downloaded wowreader and am trying to upload my character's profile, but it's not working. I've logged in and out and exited many times with and without wowreader working, disabled and enabled the addon and checked, and yet my profile's not working. The wowreader program is working fine.

I suspect the problem is that the wowreader program says "Login: anonymous, Profile: disabled". I don't know if that is supposed to change automatically, but it hasn't in the times I've run WoW from the reader and everything, refreshed, and nothing has changed. I've also found no option on the reader or the site to "enable" the profile. Please help~

So I've seen multiple posts concerning a Mac version with no response from anyone on whether this will ever happen.

As another Mac user, I'd love to be able to utilize this tool.

Any updates what so ever?

Does the programmer even read this forum? I bet us Mac users would be more then happy to beta test for you!

Any ideas for an alternate service that supports Mac users?

Lately I have seen issues with wowreader getting stuck at the end, it always stalls on sending pice data and then times out.
Any idea what this is?

A friend of mine wanted to check out my characters, is there a way to send 1 file or 1 profile so he can see all my builds/stats/etc.? I am assuming I can just tell them all my chars names and he can look them up individually, but I would rather just give them 1 name to look all 10+ chars up. I did download and install WoW Reader, and uploaded all my chars into Allakhazams database.

Thanks

In the last week or two, every time I try to start wowreader, it hangs up while checking for/downloading an update. After about a minute it comes up with "Error downloading update: The underlying connection was closed: Can't connect to remote server." Then it exits and won't let me update my profile. I do have a firewall but it fully allows Wowreader. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

My wowreader wasnt updating due to a large number of profiles pending and i was getting an error message, that however seems to have been fixed. The profiles are now still pending and every time i click upload i get the following message: Server indicates incorrect version. Please restart WowReader to update.

Restarting or even redownloading and reinstalling does not change this in any way, i still get that messsage. Any pointers?

I can't upload my profiles because "Server indicates incorrect version" of the program. It tells me to restart, I do
so and it downloads something, but when I try to upload my files
again I get the same message. I've tried to do this about ten
times. I also tried re-installing the entire application, but
I still get the same error messag.

WowReader has since been updated for the last patch, but in the future, you don't need to post if you get a version error. This is expected and intentional after every patch until its updated.

If anyones still having any problems, you might want to repost them now since it's been updated.

I am basically computer dumb and my guild wants me to post my char profile. I downloaded the read, installed, loggedin and uploaded yet cannot find my profile. Is there a link that I can get to so I can find my profile or did I do something wrong along the way?

I have just tried to load WOWReader to update my profile but all it appears to be doing is continually runnnig the updater. I have felt it for up to 15minuts and the program will not load, it just continually runs the updater. The last time I used it was about a month ago and all was fine. I have tried uninstalling and then installing fresh but that does not help.

After 1.9, when I run wowreader, it only updates my existing profiles. It does not add my new character I started about a week ago. The character is the last one I logged in under, and /wver shows that I am running the most up to date version. I tried updating while logged into the game to no avail. Any suggestions?

It should be listed if you click the "Your Characters" link on the left side of this page.

Even if you download the installer again and run that, it still keeps looping? Can you check for files named 'patch.log' and 'startup.log' in your wowreader directory, and post the contents if they exist?

Start wow without running wowreader, log into the character, log out and exit wow, then start wowreader. What does it say where it should have: "Login: Thukk, Profiles: 1 waiting."?

I have the same issue, 3 new characters not showing up. Perhaps it is because they are on the new realms released on the 2nd (Drak'thul)? Wowreader reports Profiles: 0 waiting. (there should be at least 5 in my characters profile, I have only 2.)

Also, I dumped about 2k worth of items etc and none of my existing character data has been updated ... level, stats, items, nothing has changed.

it says :

Login: Thukk, Profiles: 3 waiting.

EDIT:
i went ahead and uploaded after posting and i have all characters now.

I have now managed to solve the problem and all appears to be working. When I uninstalled the program some files were still left, so i deleted these as well and it worked fine after a reinstall =)
