From the looks of the logs, it seems you're still running an old version. You need to restart wowreader and let it update.

Always when i try start WowReader i get message:

Application has generated an exception that could not be handled.

Process id=0x93c(2364),Thread id=0xc40(3136).

Click OK to terminate the application.
Click CANCEL to debug the application.

(hmm...process id and thread id seems to be different every time i try)
i have tried to reinstal it many times and i have downloaded newest version of .NET

How do I completely uninstall WowReader? I used the Uninstall.exe that came with it, but it still loads when I play WoW. I want this program totally off my machine.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

In the server logs, I see some failed connections from the same IP address that you posted to the forms with. The login name is different, however. Make sure you're using your login and password from this website in wowreader. (It should be telling you that you have the wrong info, I'm not sure why it's not.)

Delete the Wr folder under addons in your wow directory, or just disable it using the addons button in wow that shows at the character select screen.

WoWReader won't load at all, when i ran it for the first time it automatically shut down and error.txt says:

Quote:

The type initializer for "System.Net.Sockets.Socket" threw an exception.

Yeah, I get the exact same thing as fluffyashes posted before me.
I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling, but always the same thing.

Try installing .NET 1.1 Service Pack 1. I think it fixes the bug that causes that error for some people.

#314 Nov 01 2005 at 2:59 PM Rating: Decent
I've been consistenty using WoWreader for sometime now and when I went to update my information today I got this error message:

wowreader.exe - Application Error
The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000005). Click on OK to terminate the application. When you hit OK, you get the same message. The second OK closes the error message.

Tried rebooting and still get the same message.

Are you on a US server? What does wow show for it's build number? It's listed in the lower left corner of the login screen.

Hrm, thats generally what you would see if you didn't have .NET installed. The link to .NET 1.1 SP1 is in the first post of this thread, could you try reinstalling that and see if it helps?

When i add my login info and save it, the program is changing the password to way more signs. So if i try to upload, it gives the error: Login failed. Please check your password.
How can i solve this?

Do you plan to add support to european clients?
(Playing with english client on a german server...)

I've tried to upload my data like 50 times now and I keep getting this message:

"Unable to read data from the transport connection."

Also there is an N/A next to the old section of Lua Data, so I'm thinking that is the problem.

Help me! I just want to upload my damn character! Smiley: banghead

Yep, that's the problem area. Something to do with .NET. Somehow mine is corrupted and even uninstalling and attempting to reinstall doesn't fix it. Can't seem to totally uninstall .NET.

Now my problem has to do with Security Update for Microsoft .NET Framework, Version 1.1 Service Pack 1 (KB886903) and figuring out a way to get it to install. Turned off my firewall software and my antivirus software to try and get it to install but still it fails.

Sigh.........
