I need to get alot of Iron ore for the blacksmithing quest. I was wondering where a good place to mine iron was. Right now I am a level 33 Tauren warrior. I need to make like four green iron helm, four green iron bracers and four green iron pants. Thanks for the help.
Basically anywhere that is for level 30+ players and is fairly mountainous is a good place for iron. Lower tends to see copper/tin, and much higher you see mithril mixed in. Thousand Needles is a good early source, but with a lot of copper also, after which you'll want to try looking around in the Eastern Kingdoms, say Alterac maybe.
Only the exceptions can be exceptional.
I got allot of iron in 1000 needles up on the wyvern cliff. There are about 7 possible spots up there for ore to pop up. But the wyverns are close and it can be tuff up there. I've seen iron, gold and truesilver.
Thousand Needles... Definately. You can run up & down it almost continuously finding deposits.
At 33, you should have little if any aggo from the resident mobs unless you run almost on top of them, just stay away from the opposing faction towns...

Run along the walls at the shimmering flats. It's mind numbingly boring, but it is faster than having to hunt through different areas.
