yes thats right ladies and gentemen, undead, and gnomish alike...best PvP class overall? and mage wins by a nose. Crazy you say? loony toony even? no way. heres why
1) mages have huge dmg spells...aka fireball ranks 4 and up.

2) we can use mana regen gems that WE create and that helps with mana shortage.

3) we also have the mana shield which sheilds against physical dmg.

4) ranged attacks keep our fragile asses at a safe distance.

so now that the mystery has been solved, best pvp class, do feel free to comment on my geniuos...

I believe that most of the classes will end up being a paper-rock-scissors against each other. Every class seems to have their "trump" in one-on-one, but in general I don't think that any one class can claim pure superiority. I would ask if you've fought an "adequate" hunter one-on-one, as I believe that you might have a bit more to worry about: they don't need to close, they have a pet that can cause some casting problems, they do massive burst damage if spec'd as such and most carry decent STA to absorb quite a bit of damage: especially when the damage isn't armor protected.

You obviously haven't tried this in an actual PvP situation. You have the right idea, though. Sheep the pet, kill the Hunter, and the pet disappears.

Of course, that's easier said than done.

Why are the main board a flame with Mage saying their class is broken and it sucks then?

Despite playing one, I think Shaman might be the best pvp class. We have a trump card for everything and every situation. Versatility kills.

Because the main boards are a massive whinefest, with everybody who feels that they're not "uber" whining to get their class bumped up to be "uber" - or at least get the class that owns them nerfed.

Honestly, as a Mage, I only want one thing: I want an Invisibility spell to get the hell away from PvP situations when the situation is heavily against me.

Look...I know you like Mage and are proud of it. But please god don't turn the main board into some sort of stupid "my class will own your class" bullshit. I'm going to start rating down people who post crap like this.

Heh... so why aren't Paladin, Shaman, Rogue and Hunter complaining?

Balancing a huge pvp games like this take years. Every MMORP go thru many patches and Blizzard's history with balancing games (look at their RTS) is a long one.

You can be sure we'll get a lot more patch for balance.

And while the whining on the mainboard is quite often exagerated, it usually has some basis in truth.

"i have polymorph, i morph the pet, kill the hunter and slaugghter the pet once hes sheep *** comes to."

First of all, there are a ton of pets out there that, after being tamed, keep their heavy magic resistances. This prevents them almost entirely from being polymorphed, or from taking oober damijj from your fireball.

Second of all, "kill the hunter" seems to be a pretty brief step in your process. Even without a pet, aimed shot crits can match your best fireballs (even at endgame). Concussive shot can stun you, and if you get stunned in PvP by virtually any class, the fight is over if your opponent knows what they're doing. You can bind Hunters all you want, but getting bound by a mage is nothing compared to getting bound by a Rogue or a Druid. Even if you get in our mid-range, inbetween bow and melee, Scattershot can hit you from there if our pet isn't hitting you already.

Mages can really only PvP from long range. Long range is exactly where a Hunter wants you. So it's not as simple as "then I just kill the Hunter."

Personally, I think Paladins are the best PvPers. I still can't figure out how to beat them when they're played correctly. But it boils down to player skill, that's really all that matters in a PvP fight. I've beat up on crappy Paladins, but only because they were crappy Paladins. I've gotten torn apart by every class, just because they were smarter and more talented than I was at the time.

One class might have an advantage over another class in a certain scenario, but none of that matters if the players' skill levels are different.

So far PLD haven't been a problem really.

Just got to time your Earth Shock in synch with their healing, then they panic and go Invicible and heal themselves.

So you just sit/drink to regain your mana while he heals himself, when his invicible is over, resume the battle and by the time is invicible timer is back up, he'll be dead.

Shaman deals a lot more damage then PLD do from what I can tell, so we do seem to outlast them.

Or maybe I only fought crappy PLD, but so far, I'm ok with them.

If the rogue gets the jump on you in PvP you will be dead before you can even re-act.

A good rogue can keep you in a constant stun/dmg combo. Holding you picking your nose for the entire time they wail on you.

Stealth > get behind target > cheapshot > backstab > Sinister strike > gouge > Vanish > Ambush > gouge > Sinister strike > Eviscrate > Death. ^_^

Each time they stun you they can count the 2-4 seconds to allow them to regain some Energy before making there attack so that they can continue to attack with special's.

If they still need to deal more dmg, every five minutes they can down a Thistle tea and regain 100% energy immediatly.

I know many jobs are great in PvP each one has there one "Speciallty" I personally think Rogue is one of the more dangerous though. Not just because I play one but from what many people have told me in lv35-60 endgame PvP fights.

I second Seoman's you sure don't know much. It all comes down to player skill in the end. Just because Mage is built around high damage spells doesn't mean anything for his PvP ability.

If any class is having what I like to call a shinning moment I would say Shaman and Paladin are making a name for themselves. Though just because they are having a good spell does not make them the best.

Yeah take me for instance....I absolutely without a doubt know that I indeed suck at PvP. On the other hand its sooooo much fun either way thats why I joined a PvP server. Now I am only lvl 16 and a Druid but all is well for me...I am beyond used to getting the ol' one two in Booty Bay While I fish it happens up to 3 times an hour when I go down there to fish...(well it did yesterday). No harm no foul I dont care thats why I fish naked down there. The big bad lvl 40+ can continue to kick my ***. Sometimes they pay too, when the Booty Bay Bruisers catch you fighting they tend to want to kick a little *** too.

OMG I just kinda hi-jacked the thread abit.

Anyway, I have seen some Druids hand out some whoop *** but when it comes to my druid..I simply suck and need to work on it.

Take Care and thanks for listening to my streaming thought.

I had two thoughts reading this.

1) A skilled player will beat an unskilled player regardless of class. Period. End of story.

2) Your thread is stupid and flamebait. Please refrain from posting this nonsense in the future.

The end.
