Hey all! I'm about to start out on WoW and I want to start a 'good' server. I would only like a PvP server if the population is almost balanced between Horde and Alliance because it wouldn't be fun getting killed all the time by the other faction, or always killing the other people. But i also dont want a RP server, so PvE would be nice :). I'm going to be a hunter, but i would like to level with another person, not just solo. Please post about yours or other servers that might suit my interests! Thanks.
I'd say Kil'Jaeden.... but im a little biased....

Lol, that's a PvP server, isn't it like 5:1 in favor of alliance though....?

I am on Kil'jaeden and its the other way around....there are so many Horde its rediculous.
Everyone's going to be biased about their own server.
I'd go Illidan, home of the best guild: Kharma Trolls. PvP, have no clue about the alliance to horde ratio, because I've never cared to find out.

Every time I've heard someone talking about the Horde:Alliance ratio on their server, it's always based on uselessand irrelevant data, like how many people were involved in that raid on Crossroads, or how many times X player got ganked in Alterac last night...
Likewise, there's always ******** about how the other side PvPs. "Those Alliance never come out and fight unless they have a 4:1 advantage," quotes my girlfriend now and then.
It's all perception. If you want hard facts, find the quest that lets you get data from the Census guy, and get your facts there.

What your girlfriend says is true. They never fight unless they have numbers or level advantage.
If she were Alliance, she'd be saying the same thing about the Horde - and so would you. Most people won't go into a fight if they can't win - or if they have a perception that they can't win. And most players will happily charge into a fight where they have (or think they have) a clear and distinct advantage. It's human nature.
I, a level 31 Rogue, just took out a 37 priest without sneaking up on them or help of any kind. I'm just happy that Power Word: Shield doesn't stop kick and cheap shot! XD

The last couple posts didnt exactly help, but thats ok. I guess ill try out a PvP server first, Kil'Jaedin, Frostwolf, or Illidian. And i think im going to be a troll hunter :p.
lol, sorry I didn't post on topic. Anyway, Illidan is a great server so far. I've not had any trouble finding a group. There is always some Horde right around the corner that I can go hunt down. Most people I meet are pretty cool about things.. But, you, as a part of the Horde, would have to worry about DIE. They don't have a good reputation to say the least. But, don't let 1 bad guild spoil the whole server. I'm sure you could get into the Karma Trolls if you'd join Illidan. I've not heard anything bad about them. They definately aren't powerlevelers either. You can check out their forums. (A link should be in Seoman's sig.)
PS. I just took out a Karma Troll named Chavi in Stranglethorn. It's about time I found one of you!

well the servers ive played on whisperwind stonemaul and sargeras have all been good it just depends on wehat you like you know. and i was wondering is it too late to come to Illidan and join the Kharma Trolls i hate not having a guild.
