hey sorry for posten this I've looked through the dozens of posts and didn't really answer my question I know the difference between PvP and PvE and I am tryin to get a friend to join PvP server with me this coming xmas. the first thing that got me attracted to PvP was seeing a mass battle between horde and alliance in a video I downloaded it looked really cool but i want to know if this is possible on PvE since you have to flag yourself before you can even fight someone if anyone knows or can post a link to a forum that answers this thanks. if it is i might just give in and go to PvE server with her but if not I'm just going to keep on trying to convince her to come to PvP I think I've almost got her comfortable with the fact that she will be ganked from time to time by high lvls

The large raids are possible with both PvE and PvP servers. While you do have to flag yourself to fight in a PvE server, many players do enjoy PvP content (such as myself).

My main is on a PvE server, and town raids are common, even at level 20. Lots of fun battles.

Speaking from the point of view of my alt on a PvP server, high-level ganking isn't "sometimes" - it's often.
