So, I probably should have take up some sort of crafting when the game was released. I probably wouldn't be making this post then. But I was hoping a patch was coming and some sort of fletching would be added... ha. Darn it, Blizzard... let me make my arrows!

Anyway, how do you make your gold? I'm Lv41 now and still without a mount... need 28g. Seems everyone my level gets them as soon as they hit 40. Probably won't get it until 45 at least, considering I'm farming mobs + leveling up, which forces me to spend gold on new skills. Pretty slow. I've tried asking my guild, but even they won't tell me. What's the big secret?

Here are my secrets.

Clear out quests you've outleved. You tend to not level while doing them, your durability doesn't take any hits cause you are clearing out mobs rahter fast and you will sell almost everything you find meaning pure profit.

Do not become an enchanter. No, just don't do it. My enchanter is filtering magic items from all my characters and still isn't past 110.

If you are looking for a place holder crafting skill, take two harvesting skills, skinning equals money for almost every beast type mob killed (all for the cost of a 30 copper skinning knife) Mining equals scouring the foothills and rivers for rescource nodes that means gems, and bars that sell for silly cash. (Why a stack of 20 coppers bars sells for 20 silver is beyond me when it is only 10 minuets of work.) Even herbalisim turns into cash becaues even if PCs don't buy your herbs, vendor prices on them are silly high. Also when/if woodworking comes out, you won't have spent a fortune on recipies.

Keep an idea of who buys things more then once and ask if you can friend list them. There is a person who will buy all my spare linen/wool/silk through the mail now at a decent price, cause I got to know them. Saves both of us time.

Those are the best ways I know to make money.

Use the Auction House... Don't rush to put new found gear on.

The best thing you can do is... put all the green or better items you find on auction right away. Sell as many stacks of tradeskill materials as possible. I make around 10g or more a day just doing that. Everything I get I save and sell in stacks or I put any gear (even if it's slightly better than mine) on auction as soon as possible. I consider certain gear and tradeskill materials to be time sensitive. If you notice one thing selling out fast like cloth or silk, go farm humanoids then get that stuff into the AH at premium prices.

Don't be so quick to get everywhere either. Best thing you can do sometimes is just walk or take the tram. Walking to your next destination is really good if you have a gathering trade. Saving even a little on travel will add up for you in the long haul. There is nothing like gathering a bunch of silverleaf that won't get you any points toward your skill but, will get you some silver at the AH.

There is much more to getting gold than what i've said here but, I hope it's a start. Almost all the tradeskills will earn you some money sooner than later, and don't forget fishing is a great trade too.
