On a PVE server, my friend and I (human and NE) ran into a tauren that was attempting to do a quest in a cave in a neutral zone. We were doing the same quest as him and were watching as he was swarmed by linking mobs.

My friend and I helped out, saving his life. He actually bowed to us and thanked us. We ended up helping each other complete the quest although we could have done it alone. The 3 of us spent 5 minutes dancing and emoting before going our separate ways.

Anyone else run into the "other side" that was friendly or have you helped anyone else out?

I would so suck at a PvP server...too nice I guess. Smiley: blush

I am ashamed that a fellow horde member would thank and bow to allinace scum. He must be 'fringe' horde. If any of you alliance pukes see me fighting and dying, stand back and let me perish at the hands of my enemy rather than accept anything from you! ;-)

hehe...just kidding.

Actually I helped a night elf in Ashenvale not long ago. She was only level 12 or so...way to little to be out there. She was being chased by two big wolves...tough for me at my level. She was nearly dead and was stunned so was not able to get away, but fortunately had not hit either one...so I attacked one and sent my pet after the other...we each got agro. Pet died but I killed them both. She just stood there and then ran off. I looked around real quick to make sure that no other horde members had seen...hehe.

I will add here that had she been level 24 I would have watched her die and not helped. I helped the person because they were a low level only. hehe.

Well, since I'm so used to being ganked by high level paladins, and earlier today a level 50 paladin jumped over me and kept going, I later saved a NE rogue from certain death in 1000 needles. I would've rather helped the paladin, but I'm sure he can defend himself. ;)

The rest of the time, I go out looking for fights. =)

Well, I choose to view the Horde in Jaina Proudmoore terms, and thus the horde is not my enemy. I was in Stonetalon Peak and a tauren warrior was doing some quests in the area, he was lvl 30 so should have been able to handle himself. But apparently got in over his head (probably killed 4-5 harpies before i made it to him). He managed to kill off the last harpy with a tiny tiny sliver of health left when I noticed a Chimera floating up behind him. I managed to agro the chimera before it agro'd onto him (it was practically on top of him). Later on, his RL son sent me a message thanking me for saving him. Was neat.

Kinda makes me wish there was a server type that was setup to make it more of a wary truce where players of opposite factions would react a little bit more (easier communication, even if they still cant group), rather than the hidden hostilities (technically the storyline hasnt set it up as a war yet, its more a matter of secret raids an such. no huge open conflict).

Oh, a side note. Has anyone figured out how to learn a horde language yet? I know that Blizzard stated it would be possible to learn all languages in the game, but I haven't seen any info from an in-game source verifying this.

Was in Stonetalen about a week ago doing some quests in the charred vale and a tauren saved my butt, a little while later I returned the favor and saved him when he was getting beat down by an add, I bowed, he did the same and we went our seperate ways.

Remember in The Princess Bride, when Inigo Montoya helped Wesley climb up the cliff so he could swordfight him to the death?

I'm currently in Stranglethorn Vale and I constantly see Horde members biting off more than they can chew. I always help them when I can. I feel bad if they die to Beasts and such. Plus, it's more fun to watch them die by my hands.

trickybeck, when I saw what you said about "The Princess Bride" I found it funny, because on Friday I had to watch that movie in school lol. Funny to actually know things(I don't watch to many movies or anything, so I'm usually clueless what people are talking about).

I am not the type of person to go out to slaughter the "enemy" just for the heck of it. So I too have helped, or even just waved or bowed to the opposite faction. I think it would be a really wonderful idea to be able to interact more with the "opposing" side.
As for different languages, I know that Blizzard is planning on doing something, but I don't think anything has been done yet, and I don't know when something will be done...but the plan is there.

I'm with Huffman,

If someone is much lower than me, either faction, and is obviously in an area much to high for themselves, I'll help them out of a jam as I give kudo's to the adventurous types.

If your even close to my level though, and of the opposite faction, you're on your own. You don't have to be on an RP server to realize that the two factions are at war, I like to play it that way.

As I mentioned in a similar thread, there are several factions within the game that are unified without regard for race or "Alliance/Horde." These factions are concerned with larger threats - The Burning Legion and the Scourge, in particular. Orc, Human, Forsaken, Dwarf - they're all the same when it comes to demons or necromancers bent on destroying the world.
