Ok this is a real simple question.

I'm a hunter, and at 40 we can wear mail. However how many pieces add AGI? I tried using the advanced search thing, but I don't know if my connection was taking awhile to lead or what, and it drew a blank. As a hunter STR and AGI are the most important stats to me for damage, and the more damage I can do at range the better since our DPS is very much higher at range then melee.

That being said, the melee portion of most of my fights, unless i'm aggroed, only lasts about 30seconds or less, some less then 6 (raptor strike isn't ready when the fight ends, and I use it at the start of the melee always).

I'm only 31, but getting very close to 40 and being able to use mail. But i'm wondering how much use i'll get out of it stat wise. I'm also on a RP server, and atm not actively going out and seeking PvP or Duels with people. If I was, mail would probably be better. But for questing and all, i'm still left to wonder how much stat bonuses will I give up... I know that you can make some mail through higher level leatherworking, and I looked at those, but none seemed to add AGI.

Regardless i'll probably replace some lower AGI items with stronger mail.

Anyways what are your thoughts on this? Be you a hunter or something else, you probably have an opinnion or answer (to the how many pices add agi thing) on this, so feel free to post, however this is directed mainly at hunters, or people with jobs 40+ and able to use mail.

Not much on Thottbot either, although I don't know how complete Thott's DB is right now as that's the first I've used it since retail. Looks like mostly randomly generateds, though.

As some slight consolation though, the only other class who cares about mail is shamans, and they have a different stat concern, so at least the only demand will be from other hunters, rather than now where you have to fight all the rogues for agi stuff. (I was in a 3-hunter group in Blackfathoms yesterday though, so that wasn't much help there.)

Of course, I play Alliance where I don't even have to worry about the shamans, and I also play a more melee-based hunter, so I'm not 100%-centric on getting agi.

I realize that doesn't help much, but it's something. /shrug

As of level 22, i havent seen MUCH mail armor with +agi given that warriors and paladins dont need it as much as rogues and hunters. The +agi i have seen was a bit insignificant compared to that of leather armor or just the rest of the stats on that piece of mail armor.

Apparently Thottbot won't update my player profile, so I'll just say this now.

I have roughly +101 Agility, +80 stamina and 1673 armor at level 44, wearing all mail but I'm still using Panther Hunter leggings (+10 agi, +10 sta if I remember right).

You don't really need to worry much about mail unless you are on a PvP server, since you don't really get hit that much. In PvP, every bit of protection helps (hence my high +stamina) against other players, who will be buffing themselves up accordingly as well.
