WAR vs. PLDFollow

#1 Dec 11 2004 at 10:38 PM Rating: Decent
To me War is more like die hard fighter, but when War. vs. PLD who is going to win? And which job is more fun to play >< just find out war don't have much fun ability to use ; ; too late for me

PLD will nearly always win unless there is a big lvl difference...

These are the kind of people, you *do not* listen to. Any class can beat any other class at PvP. It's all in how you play. Now, some classes do have advantages over other classes, but it's never a (Oh crap I'm a warrior, and oh crap, there's a paladin my level, I better run.)kind of deal.

Well, it is kind of hard to beat a fully refreshed pally ;), but warriors are incredibly powerful if the user understands how to use them, they still need some lovin though.

Agreed... the person who understands his class better is more likely to be the winner in that situation. However, Paladin is really simple to learn... Warrior takes more thought to do well.

A warrior would have a chance if the warrior was using a shield just for shield bash. A two handed weapon is possible but will be harder just because of the freedom the paladin has when it comes to curing. Thats my take of it as a lv 26 warrior.

I must agree that those who know how to perform their job better then the opponent will usually win, no matter what the class is. Now players of equal skill...well thats a toss up :D I guess in that situation, class weakness/strengths will really factor in.

No I am a warrior and I know a PLD will beat me. They have the 30% chance of stun and that 1 minute stun. All they have to do is do that and heal. Its over and done. No matter shield bash or not stuns just suck.

*points at eric's sig*

Umm...your paladin is showing ;P

Anyways, your understanding of the game is really flawed, Eric. Warriors have the ability to lower the effectiveness of melees on the field. As for shield bash, not only does it interrupts the casting but it stops all casting from the player for 6 seconds. Not only that but he have abilities to shield us from attacks (Shield Block ~ Fast cooltime, low rage and negates one attack), we have retaliation (which has to be the best melee ability in the game. Also known as the "I win" ability. Long cooltime though) plus we have execute (125 damage plus 3 for every rage I have. A clean 550 damage if done perfectly. Only used as a closer, however)

We are not weak. We as warriors have many abilities that will help us survive. With that being said, I know if I fight a paladin, I will be facing a very, very tough class. Doesn't mean he'll be leaving without a dent :D

Yeah I know I havent used WoW Reader in a while. Anyways you wont do that much damage to a PLD because your forgetting the defensive aura. And since your horde you cant duel PLD's one on one. Trust me if you beat a PLD as a WAR then the PLD either sucked or was a lower lvl. If it was based on no healing then the Warrior would smoke the PLD easily.

Next?

Just wanted to add that I do play on the PvP server so I get a lovely chance to fight all classes. Paladins are hard and I have lost against them...but not always. Hell, I used to make daily trips to Darkshore to test out my warrior.

The only I have left to say is that if you enter a fight with the mentality that you are going to lose, you will lose. I always enter a fight to win and more often then not, I usually win :D

The way the classes are now the warrior would have to be alot more skilled than the pld. otherwise a retarded paladin could win. Paladins can beat almost every class in a straight up 1v1 fight unless the other player has some really good moves.

As lvl 22 Alliance warrior, I have only ever lost a duel to a Paladin. He was 2 levels higher. And it was my first duel. As I get higher, I realize few warriors max their skills out. Sure a pally can heal himself. But if I lower his armor 900 points (sunder armor rank 2) and hit him with demoralizing shout, activate my counterattack (15 second auto counter) and make use of my sheild bash when he tries to heal. Well... you have one very screwed paladin.

The problem is that pally can heal themselves and are ioncreadibly long to kill. They got you on the long way or in a PvP group fight or raid they will survive untill someone come to help them.

Watched a duel outside of Iron Forge today... 32 Pally vs 33 War... was very very close... War won by a sliver. My sig doesn't show it, but I also have a 16 Priest as of now, so don't shoot flak at me for that. Just too lazy at 6 AM. Smiley: smile

I'm going to have to agree with Redmoon on this. He used the "I win" skill on my hunter. =(

...ahem, anyway it depends on many factors, such as player skill (the biggest factor), equip, and many things. I know that paladins can beat warriors, but I also know that warriors can beat paladins. I've seen it done both ways plenty of times, in many circumstances (1v1, raids, etc.)

But, what you people don't seem to understand is that Hunters rock! I even almost beat Redmoon on my hunter meleeing...until he used the "I win" skill. =P
