Hello , I'm a blacksmith and like to find and make all my own equipment possible , i'm ready to make myself a shining silver breastplate but I can't seem to find where these pearls drop or be able to fish em up. My fishing is 255 so i figured i woulda got one from a clam by now. Any help on where to find em would be much appreciated.

the thick shelled clams drop pretty often in blackfathom deeps...usually get about 1 iridescent pearl per run-through

I was killing murlocs in Westfall (15ish to aboue 18ish level) and they were dropping clams that opened. Only got one pearl out of the lot, but they can come out of them - eventually.
The pirates on merchent coast north of ratchet drop em, so do the marines in northwatch, but I bet you're alliance, so that won't help you.
The crab men off of merchent coast north of ratchet also drop clams that sometimes have pearls in them also.

ok maybe it was a typo, but how did you get your fishing above lvl 225? I am stuck there and can't find a trainer to help me go any higher.

Those are Small Lustrous Pearls, not Iridescent Pearls - the Small Lustrous variety are pretty easy to get.
I got my first Iridescent Pearl today, killing off Nagas in Hillsbrad - one of the clams they dropped had one. I'll have my Phoenix Pants made tomorrow. =^_^=

Thanks for all the input so fast! And no those all help im on the horde side undead warrior, and no its not a typo didnt say was above 255 its at 255 thanks. I don't know if can go higher than that i just stopped there.
I've gotten 4 Iridescent Pearls from Torn Fin Murlocs in Hillsbrad.
So if it's not a typo how did you get it that high? I had to read a book in booty bay to go from lvl 150-225. Then it stops and you have to do a quest to lvl it again. Last I heard that was not able to be done atm but was coming in a future patch.
So we have 2 options here, you do, in fact know how to lvl fishing past 225, if that is the case Please I beg of you to tell me.
Other option being you do not, in fact have 255 fishing. I am praying it's the former and would love to know how to do it.
BTW you being horde has nothing to do with it, we all have to lvl fishing the same way :)
No this is not a flame, so please don't take it as such. I am just dying to know how to raise my fishing again
EDIT: So it appears there is a minimum level requirement to be able to take fishing past 225, this is straight from a GM ingame. Also not from a GM, but it appears that this level requirement is somewhere in the neighborhood of 35 based on other sites I looked around on. So if this is true you cannot have level 255 fishing (according to your signature anyway). A screenshot could lay my doubts to rest though....
