So, I just logged in and downloaded the new patch for WoW. I went back in and it said my interface file was out of date. So I clicked delete, and I went in and of course, no Cosmos. I tried going to their site but nothing. Is anyone else having any problems?

Yea they dont seem to really like you messing with the interface. I think because of the botters they are banning they thought it had something to do with some of the options that the 3rd party UI had. But I could be wrong.

Ha, typical. I finally got around to installing it a few hours ago, pretty much only for the extra hotbar, and it was great! Now it doesnt work :) oh well, back to the single hotbar again, for a while.

Cosmos is working again -run it, and update to Beta version.

Apparently what happened was that Blizzard decided that they didn't like opening outside browsers from inside the WoW interface. Stands to reason, since the external sites aren't officially authorized by Blizzard (Cosmos was linking to the Cosmos Guide and to Thottbot). I suspect that there may have been issues with the potential for password hacks and backdoor add-ons, also.

Blizzard *approves* of interface changes. There are many posts on the Offical Blizzard forums, from Blizzard deves, about custom scripting and interfaces. But they don't want botters, either, as the bans prove.

Accounts were banned but I see no mention of Blizz retracting the UI customization interface and banning UI mods. Be aware that there is a big difference between UI mods and bots. Blizz allows and has worked to support UI modification (ex: extra button bars, DPS meters, map marker addons) that help improve your gameplay, but the UI modders have to use Blizz's interface and play by Blizz's rules (there are things Cosmos will NOT do). Bots are 3rd party programs runnign in the backgroud AUTOMATING tasks. That's a big no-no and will get you BANNED.

If Blizzard officaly revokes the UI mods you won't get your account banned for having Cosmos. Blizzard will just remove the programming UI and Cosmos will stop working. If the Cosmos devs were to write a new 3rd party program to work around the lack of UI interface, and you chose to use that, you'd be risking bannage there.

I'm getting very intermittent activity from cosmos.exe. Sometimes it'll connect when you first run it, sometimes not. When it does connect and I try to update, the proggie crashes out on me. I'm getting very disgruntled about it, as I HATE the standard UI, and love cosmos. :(

I'm getting the same thing. Sometimes it will let me patch Beta and sometimes it will give me nothing. The two times I did get Beta on the drop down menu, nothing changed in the game. What's happening?!?!?! I NEED COSMOS!!

PS-I can't go to the site either. What's wrong with it?

Ok.. so I finally managed to download the newest beta, but not from the cosmos servers. There's a post on the WoW UI Forums HERE with a bunch of links of people independently hosting the files until the cosmos servers are less bogged down.

I noticed something after I downloaded the update... Thottbot is gone from my Cosmos setup.. wtf!

Was that part of the 'update' that Blizz did was remove the fuctionality of the UI calling external sites within game, forcing Alexander to remove the Thottbot from the UI? If so, that's crap.

I didn't even have a problem with Cosmos after the update, at all... it ran fine.

Maybe I'm just an idiot. ._.

It works again now, for me at least.

First i had to log in to WoW, all the way to your character select screen (ie, after patch is applied). Then i exited, and ran Cosmos. It updated, i was able to log in again, and it works. Fairly easy.
