I have read that this is being worked on. I suggest it might be helpful if, at the "Download Wowreader" page, you indicate that the current Wowreader is PC-only and give an estimate of when you expect Mac OS X peeps will be able to have access to their characters at Allakhazam's.
Otherwise, since I no longer play EQ, it doesn't really make sense for me to keep a premium membership if I can't have my WoW toon linked.

Any official response to this question? I understand this takes time, but it would be nice to have an approximate date.
Also, putting a little note on the Wowreader download page to the effect that a version is being worked on for OS X would be a nice courtesy for Mac subscribers to Allakhazam's.

I agree. Is there any other way to include a character profile, other than running Wowreader? It would be nice to give Mac users this ability......
I'd also like to see this. I think that you're going to see a lot of Mac users on WoW, and on these forums, just because we didn't have any good MMO's before WoW came out.

It's the least that you should do for your Mac premium members—letting us know that you acknowledge our existence.
I've tried to be subtle but if there is no official indication that Mac OS X users will be able to link to their toons or create character profiles in some other fashion, I will terminate my premium membership.

As a Mac and PC user, I am able to use the PC WoWReader client to update my profiles, but I agree with you MacHeads out there that having both available would be nice.
Also - I'm not 100% sure if WoWReader was coded in Java - but if it was, creating a Mac version would not be especially difficult. From my own network programming perspective (which is limited) Java includes all of the same tools for Mac as it does for PC. The only difficulty I can see would be making it work with the Mac client of WoW. However, if the interface is XML based (which again, is just a guess) it would not be very difficult... So what I'm saying is that in my mind, which I admit lacks facts, it shouldn't be a huge project seeing as they have already created the program for the PC.

On another, less related Mac topic, I use the latest version of Safari (because IE for OSX sucks it real hard) and I can't see the images of peoples' characters in their profiles, I can only see their equipment and skills. I want to see what people look like, any idea if this is just a problem with Safari?

Agreed, it seems cool, but i cant use it. Sure i could install WoW on the PC as well, but why would i bother taking the time when it wouldnt run nearly as well as it does on my G4.
Just another Mac user eagerly anticipating the porting of Wowreader. The more of us interested in the project, the more likely it is to happen sooner, right? *nudge nudge*

I have this same issue in both IE and Firefox on the PC. I don't think the profile has the information to display a picture of the dressed 'toon.

I think everyone realizes this...it has become convention to call a personal computer running the Windows operating system a PC...like it or not.
Personally, I have no problems with Safari.
I much prefer browsing on my Mac over my PC because of the near immunity to viruses and spyware

As would anyone with an ounce of snese. Safari is probably the best browser out for any platform. And .mac rocks.
Why isn't the source code availible for this program? Part of the reason why I got WoW was because it runs on Macs. I should note that my brief attempts to use this application on a PC didn't yield any desired results.
Just a couple things I wanted to say/ask:
I beleive the interface is XML since your profiles are XML and the items are XML... Also the UI mods for the game are XML I believe.
I've seen this before and was wondering how you did it. It's probably a premuim member service... which I don't have. Before I just couldn't really see paying for a avatar on the forums and the forum search. Also some of the premuim searches on FFXI... Since thats about all I would use it for. Even if this is a premuim service I still don't know if its enough for me to purchase a premuim membership...
Anyways all I wanted to say.
Oh yea, and you all do know Windows pretty much ripped off apple for about everything they did right? >.>
