Ok i was on FFXI on the shiva server and logged in 56 days of playing time but am now officially done with the game because the economy has officially gone bust.

I have a few questions to ask:

1)I think that i have decided to become a hunter and would like to know what race makes the best hunter. I have no problem with any race. So what race makes the best hunter and what is the over all deal with hunter as if pets take away exp like in FFXI (-_-;).

2) How much money do i have to pay each month to pay and how much does each additional character cost?

3) I have already decided to go to the thunderlord server because i have friends on there from the shiva server in FFXI but what is another non-PvP server that might be wise to make another character in?

thanks for your time..

1) every class + every race = fun
there is no best race/class combo

2) 15$ a month. no additional cost for char i have 4...

3) pvp server is pvp there is allakhazam guild :D that i am not in but that seem cool

1) race doesn't really make much difference, pick one you think looks cool, just make sure its the same faction (alliance or horde) as your friends

2) To the best of my knowledge you don't lose any xp, if you do it's not much.

3) servers are pretty similar as far as i know, im on Garona and i like it a lot.

hope this helps

1) No race makes the best anything, all races have their own reasons for being blayed, but a class on a race usually doesnt matter, its not like ffxi where a galka was at a disadvatage with mp because he was galka and was supposed to be a warrior, pld, or the like. Pets do not take from your exp they gain exp, from things you gain exp from, but they do not take a cut of exp from you.

2) 15 dollars about is the monthly price, less if you pay for batches of time (ie buy 3 months for like 14 dollars, 6 for 12 or something like that). No cost for additional characters, it is 8-10 a server, up to 50. Don't worry you dont need mules=)

3) If you like RP: Silverhand, if you like none pvp, elune is a nice server, pvp wise.... try to chose a less crowded one otherwise it can be hard.

As others have said, all races can be good hunters and mostly looks are important.. however here are a few things to consider--

Horde-
Orc- + pet damage and ax speciality in addition to stun resistance seems to make them an outstanding choice for hunter. The main downside is agility which isn't great for orcs.

Troll- great agility, regeneration, + vs beasts.

Tauren- **** poor agility, racial abilities not very helpful for hunter.

Alliance-
NE- shadowmeld (steath while not moving) is kinda nice for a hunter, great agility.
Dwarf- Gun spec, bad agility.

Can any other alliance be hunters?

As far as stats/racial abilities orc wins hands down with the + pet damage and axe spec, but again pick what you want.

Troll also get a + to throwing items, and hunter are ranged fighters (A mix between RNG and BST in FFXI terms).

I'm not sure if Hunter can use their ranged abilities with throwing item tho.

My guess for an optimal hunter would be orc or troll.

Their AGI isn't too bad, it's one of the lowest, but with my gear I have a really good AGI rating (at least I think so). Dwarves also have a great amount of stamina, which can help in taming, or if growl doesn't hold. I don't know how many more times I would have died had I not as many HP as I do. =)

Also, Dwarves get stoneform: 2min duration, no poison, no "bleed," +5% armor, but -30% movement speed (you can cancel it by right clicking the status icon to regain full movement/original stats). This helps especially against spiders.

I'm not adding this because I think Dwarves are the best, I simply play one and know what's good about 'em.

you are going to have to drop everything you knew form FFXI to answer some of these questions.

1) every race is in turn the same. tauren get a bit mroe life trolls a bit mroe agility and alike. but it isnt much and it doesnt make much of a difference. make sure you get on the same faction as your friends though because you wont even be able to talk to them if you dont. Pets do get exp but they dont take it from you. you get the usual ammount of exp the pet just gets that exp also.

2) the cost is like said $15 a month. a bit mroe than FFXI is but you dont have to pay for any extra chars.
