#1 Dec 07 2004 at 8:56 AM Rating: Default
sure i'm hunter and sure I will kill war, rogue and other few class if i see them 1st.

I know that hunter is not the best hod pvp class... and i know i'm not the only one having this problem...

how you kill the pld????

I mean realy! I tryed the 600mp drain sting and hopeing that would help me kill him so he would be lacking mp... nope not sure what mp pld have a level 36 but he sure had more then 600! (more like 1.2k to me) but then again even i have 1.1 mp.

ok what i do (if i see them 1st)

ok i start out with the ice trap. i remaber where i put it so i can lead him to it.

i send my pet to him, and shot my sting (mp drain, not sure if it helps) then the slow shot. the walk back and hit him with alcain shot.

buy now he is near me. to close for slow shot. so i run at him and go tough him and do wing clip most of the time it works.
since wing clip has range 9.

...........any other class? dead by now...but pld???? nope

the i run! get away from him! and make sure ice trap is in his way and when he is near stop attack!

and this is where i use my 1st aid to heal... and when it's done...

I hit him with every thing...

so why is he not dead and me that is dieing? the gay no hit immue to every thing skill -_-;; he runs at me! and stune me!
sure i fake death and let my pet do lot of damage then i get up and try to use 1st aid befor reizeing that i am up and running..

only killed pld once... and i fught him over and over since he was the same level as me.

...I can kill most class don't ge me wrong. i'm not the best in pvp but still!!!

Have you noticed that the point of the Paladin is to stay very very alive. And a fully decked out (gear-wise paladin) is meant to be invincible to stuff his level. However you must also look at its drawbacks. Less damage than the warrior or rogue, along with lack of skills. No great de-buffs i know of. Just good buffs. And also you have to remember that the Paladin has about this much range ->.
From sword to person. Maybe that high level light thing but besides that not much else. If anything at all.

No Range
No Debuffs
Decent-Okay damage. Depends heavily on equip since no skills.

High Armor
Good staying alive spells

This coming from a perspective of a level 17 Paladin.

feel free to add or critiscize, please no flaming, i realize this can become a touchy issue.

if war charged at hunter and got into the melee then hunter will die.

i am not saying hunter vs pld... i mean Paladin in gen are to strong. and the ppl that says that they do less damage.

in pvp healing and starying alive is the major point!

sure in hord we have shaman... and alli they have paladin... i guess it's all even....some what....

Only PLD I've fought was with my Rogue and it was a Duel not PvP so i realize where things differ here I was still able to defeat him.

It started out close with the exchanging of blows then when I jumped ahead with a 5-point Eviscerate He of course threw up hit divine protection thing(can't remember name protects from everything but can't attack) and he starts healing so I took the time to also heal (drank a potion) then when the shield dropped I just began the Guage/Backstab and finished him soon after, since the shield is IC I can't Kick to stun him but I did stop a Healing spell so it ended well -- Overall It was a good fight.

Now with no knowledge how I would fare in PvP situation I know I've taken down a Hunter before but depending on circumstances I'm not sure how'd I fare against a PLD 'cause everyone has a different playing style.

Good luck to you all!

i am also a hunter and i have no problem taking a paladin my lvl if i get the jump on them. i think they thing with hunter is your tallents play a big part. either you set them up to be a pve person or a pvp person. if you go marskman and get aimed shot and the other skills no paladin can youch you if you get the jump on them. i aimed shot for about 200 damage (i am lvl 25) and a posible critical hit for damn near 380 damage. then i use concussive shot because it slows there movement to me plus i have 20% chance to stun them with that. send my pet in and unleash hell. when they get close hit them for a sec wingclip and run to range and concussive shot again. if at any point my concussive shot stunns the enimy he is done and the battle is over. if it doesnt they still have a fighting chance but not much. from what i see now the only class that can beat me if i get the jump on them is a warior because they can keep me in close. and a rogue because they too can keep me close.

But in all of this the biggest thing with hunters is how you make your tallents. putting any points into beast mastery (other than aspect of the hawk) is a waste for pvp

Let me preface this by saying I play on Shattered Hand, where Horde are outumbered by the Alliance by a greater ratio than 2 to 1, and PvP on my server is probably different from other servers. I too have great difficulty killing paladins my own level because of immunity (36 hunter here). If you are a hunter, and your opponent is just running at you or letting you back away, they are a moron. When I fight other hunters in PvP, I charge them after firing my first two shots and meelee the crap out of them because they concern themselves too much with trying to get their shots off. Wing clip is great and all, but if somebody lets you get to arrow range off of a wing clip, unless the immobilize gets off, they are once again a moron. With most people I fight PvP, the biggest problem with any class as a hunter comes in the form of a paladin. Warriors and rogues are only troublesome is your concussive shot gets resisted, then you're in for some bad times. Most of the fights I've had with paladins are completely unwinnable, as I can beat them down, they always seem to have immunity ready, and complete heal while chasing me down. If I get out of meelee range they use their throw hammer or whatever it is to stun me and get back in range, and beat the crap out of me, in spite of the greater health potion and parry ability I use. Paladins really are a busted class, and I've found the only class that can take a good paladin 1v1 is a priest, whose fear and shadowword:pain can get through that invincibility and ***** up their healing abilities, or if you're verrry lucky and manage to suprise one, but realistically, you will be the one more often than not being suprised. I originally hought that all of the classes were supposed to be able to beat eachother, but at higher levels this definitely is not the case, and you will notice the number of certain classes being terribly low (druids and priests on my server) Of course you can kill somebody if you get the jump on them, but more often than not, you will be caught with your pants down while fighting a quest mob when either a pally or a rogue (which 2/3 of the alliance that I've run across, and I've seen a ton of them, play) will creep up on you.
